What A Hellsih Journey

Place of rest, place of battle

(I think this is the longest chapter so far, holy shit)

Nothing....that's What the hyena saw. He was asleep again. He looked around the empty black void, and started walking. His feet hit what sounded like bricks. Soon, he came upon a lone door. He put his hand on the handle, twisted it, and opened. Inside was what seemed to be a house, maybe? He walked inside, jumping when he heard the door slam behind him. His tail was limp in fear. He slowly walked through this place, jumping again when he heard Berius say "Hello!" The hyena quickly looked back to the dragon. "Wh....how...where the fuck am I?!" The hyena asked. "Well, you're dreaming, but at the same time this place us from one of my memories. I'm surprised you found me, honestly." Berius admitted, chuckling silently. He wore a slightly smug look. "Wipe that look off your face." The other huffed. Berius sighed. "Whatever. Anyway, tell me. How do you feel going to that colosium?" Berius asked. "Oh! You mean the one Drago talked about? I honestly can't wait!" The hyena replied, his tail suddenly beginning to wag. "Good, good. Now, let me teach you some spells for said fighting at the colosium, yes?" Berius suggested. The hyena nodded.

Red was bored. The only other one he got along with, besides maybe Thayne, was asleep. Red sighed. He looked at the hyena was a small smile...before being brought back by Drago. "Ooh~ eyeing up the new guy?" Drago teased. Red let a growl out. "Shut it, dumbass." Red huffed. Red was blushing a small bit, making Drago laugh a bit. "Oh. Come on Red, it's noting to be upset about just because you were called out!" Dragon said with a big grin. "Says the one who wants to try and get into Aki's pants the first time you two met." Red growled back. Drago was left speechless by that. Speaking of the wolf, Aki soon came up to the two, smiling like a pup in a candy shop. "Whats got you all happy?" Red asked. "Havelock, I bet~" Drago suggested. The wolf blushed, but his wagging tail and silence didn't refuse anything. "He tought you pirate lingo, didn't he?" Red asked. "Aye, he did." Aki replied with a big smile. Red sighed. This was going to be a long trip.

The hyena woke up, rubbing his eyes. The first thing he saw was red hovering over him....very closely. The hyena blushed, and realized where Red's hands were. They were on the sides of his helmet. Was Red trying to see his whole face? Red seemed surprised at the other waking up, and yanked his hands back from where they were. "Urm....this...isn't What it looked like?" Red said, a bit unsure of himself. The hyena only gave a knowing gaze. Red sighed. "A-anyway, we've reached land. The others wanted me to wake ya. They're all waiting on us." Red explained. The hyena sighed, getting up, and following red off the ship. "Ok, now that we have everyone. Let's split up, and do our own things. We meet back here in an hour, got it?" Havelock explained. They all nodded. They split up as planned, Aki going with Havelock, Thayne by himself, Drago by himself and Red kinda dragging the hyena along with him. "So um...about earlier..." Red muttered. The hyena chuckled. "It's ok. You're just a bit curious on how the rest of my face looks, yea?" He asked Red. The croc nodded. "Well...I'll show you guys one of day, I'm just not ready yet...plus, it helps guard my head in case anything like Aki tried to pull happens again." The hyena explained with a wagging tail. The tip of Red's tail was wagging happily. "Sure...just show me first, ok?" Red asked. "Sure, buddy. Sure." The hyena said, smiling softly.

An hour had past, and they all grouped back up, Aki and Havelock being late, and a bit sweaty. They were panting hard. "Ran...all way....here..." Aki panted. Havelock looked like he was about to die, almost falling to his knees even. Thayne had to hold up Aki while Drago held up Havelock. "I found an inn we can rest at. Come on." Drago said.

At the inn, Havelock and Aki were taken to there rooms. "I'm terribly sorry great dragon but...the crocodile and the hyena may need to share a room." The inn keeper told Drago. Drago smiled. "Oh, it's perfectly fine, I promise you!" Drago said with a smile. "Right you two~?" Drago asked the hyena and crocodile in question. The two shook their heads. They never heard Drago's voice have that tone of potential malice before...it was scary.

In their room, the hyena was already out like a light. Only Red remained awake. He smiled, and gently kissed the sleeping hyena on the cheek before going to sleep himself.

".....rs!"........"Wake up!"........

He didn't know when...but he was in a colosium. Across from him was Havelock, watching the current battle unfold. "Finally lad. You ready for our fight?" Havelock asked. The hyena...nodded. He assumed that the Berius took hold of him all day. He sighed, praying to the Creator that Berius didn't do anything weird to and or with Red...not yet at least. When Red and Aki were passed out in the middle after a magical blizzard cleared, Red was deemed the winner. The two were carried back in where the hyena and Havelock were. Red suddenly snapped up, awake. "H-huh!?" He yelped. He looked to Havelock, to the passed out Aki then to the hyena, meeting him with a small and soft smile. "Good luck out there L-"

The hyena was panting. Havelock was no easy foe. It was time, he decided, for a spell Berius taught him. "Twe phywo dlao- Black Flame!" The hyena yelped, making a, well, black flame appear in port palms. He tossed one at the orca before clenching the other in his fist, making it go ablaze. He ran up to the orca, whome was doing his fire ball, and punched him square in the gut. The orca let a chuckle out. "Ye be in...ngh....deep waters now, pup!" Havelock grumbled. Suddenly, murky water began to fill the stadium. He acted quickly. "Akchowa loequi majin shlpwowe- Air Bubble." He yelped out. Before the water went above his neck, suddenly all water on him, and around him, was pushed back. He was now enclosed in a bubble. The bad part...it had limited oxygen.

This wasn't good...if he wanted to have more air, he'd need to cast the spell again, but he knew his mana would be drained after this. He saw the outline of the orca swimming closer and closer....it was Game Over.

"Uuurgh...." the hyena grumbled. He was soaking wet, and on the ground in the colosium. He sat up...He was still in the bubble. He looked to his left, seeing a knocked out Havelock. The bubble popped, and he, painfully, stood up. "AND THE WINNER IS, L-"

Once back to the Inn, the hyena kept quiet, head hung low. "Why so down?" Berius asked. 'I didn't deserve that win.' The hyena replied. Berius sighed. "Yes you do. That wasn't me who fought Havelock, it was y-" Berius was interrupted by the hyena getting a slap on the back. "Hey, cheer up lad! Ye beat me." Havelock said with a big smile. The hyena gave a small smile. "Yea, yea. Whatever." He said. "So...before the colosium...was I acting strange at all?" He suddenly asked. They all shook their heads no. "Only a bit more like a pup, I guess. But that's all." Red informed him. He chuckled. Pup....He liked Red calling him that. Made him feel special to the other.

He smiled as they all went to bed. He got in bed with Red, both fading away from each other. They both drifted off into sleep...
