Me and Marlene sat in the library talking. I was checking her homework and she was gossiping. I wasn't paying much attention until i heard a specific name.
"And Remus Lupin" my head shot up "what about Lupin?" I asked. Marlene rolled her eyes "you weren't listening were you!" I shook my head. She sighed.
"James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin have all formed a friend group. They've already played like 5 pranks on me and the other girls already and it's really funny!" She realised what she had said. "Don't tell them I said that!"
I smirked at her "I can't promise anything"
We talked and studied for another half an hour before deciding to go explore the castle. We hadn't had much time to get to know Hogwarts but what we had seen, we found breathtaking. We were just walking past the Gryffindor Common room, when three boys came tumbling out. I recognised them as the boys Marlene was talking about earlier. They were just standing up when another boy, Remus, walked through the portrait hole. I smiled.
"Hey McKinnon! Ask Evans if she wants to sit with us at dinner!" James shouted, even though we were right next to each other. He then noticed me. "Who's this?" He asked. I sighed. He'd met me many times at ministry officials parties and gatherings as his parents were aurors.
"Sophia Lock" I said glancing at Marlene for help, but she was talking to Alice, who had just left the common room. "Lock?" Peter asked. I knew he wasn't the best as school but surely someone had told him? "My Father's the minister" I said through gritted teeth. Conversations always managed to go back to Dad's job. James made an 'O' of realisation with his mouth.
Sirius hadn't talked but I was kind off happy about it. Although Marlene and my other Gryffindor friends told me he was nothing like the rest of his family (pureblood, rude, arrogant, etc.) I still wanted to see for myself.
But then he did speak. "So do you hate breaking rules or does having a father that makes them make you want to break them even more?" I pause. I hadn't thought about that. "I hate having attention so probably the first option." James looked disappointed. "We'll have to change that" he said "having a spy in the ministry could be helpful for a future prank!" I didn't know what to say.
Luckily the silence was filled with Sirius' voice. He had an idea. "Can I call you Sophie?" He asked.
"No" I replied.
James then joined in. "I like it!" He exclaimed. "Marls can you please tell them no?" I asked my friend. She shook her head. She was enjoying this.
"Sophieeeee" James cried "Sophieeeee" I death stared him. To my surprise he actually stopped. I didn't know I was that scary. "Fuck off" I said to them (maybe a bit playfully, I was going to regret that)
I walked off leaving them all exchanging glances. They were going to be back, even more annoying tomorrow.
