A New Perspective

I arrived back at the hotel and went up to the room.

I opened the door and was knocked over by Gon, who had grabbed me in a hug.

"AMEYA! YOU'RE OKAY!" he said.

"Yeah, I told you I would be fine. It was pretty simple," I said.

"You got the merchandise then?" asked Killua.

I nodded and got it out of my bag.

"It's someone's nen ability," I explained. "Opening it should let all the stuff out."

"Great! We could probably sell it to the mafia right?" Gon asked.

"Yeah. Maybe I could even get the amplifier as well," I said. "But it's been a long night, I'm gonna go to bed."

I left the boys and went to sleep as soon as I sat down on the bed.

I woke up the next morning and got in contact with the mafia. I put on my disguise and went to where the auction house.

On my way I called Gon and Killua to decide on what would be a reasonable price.

"Ameya, you should try to get the amplifier no matter what, there are others ways we can make money," said Killua.

"Yeah, we can figure something else out," Gon added.

"Alright," I said, grateful for having such good friends.

I hung up and a man in a suit led me in the auction house and to a room. Inside was another man, most likely one of the higher ups.

"So I understand you have recovered the merchandise," he said.

"Yes, I have," I replied.

"And how did you get it?"

"I stole it from the thieves," I said.

"Right, see, I find that hard to believe," he said. "That you were really able to steal this from the phantom troupe?"

I paused. The phantom troupe? The phantom troupe? Why didn't I figure it out sooner? Hisoka told Kurapika to meet him here about the spiders, and they are thieves.

"They were distracted when I took it," I said, trying to remain calm.

"Right, right," he said. "I don't really care how you got it, I'm more concerned about the price. Did you have anything in mind?"

"Yes. I was wondering if I could get a piece of merchandise," I said.

"What?"

"The amplifier," I said.

"Really. That was estimated to run for about 2.3 billion," he said. "Bringing the merchandise back to us would really only be worth... 1.7 billion."

"I brought you dozens of items worth millions and billions, I find it hard to believe that is only worth 1.7 billion."

"Look, it is impressive that you managed to get the merchandise, but we have other people who could've done the same thing."

"Unlikely," I said. "The shadow beasts were the strongest people you had, and the troupe killed them all in seconds. Anyone else you would have to hire, and they would likely have a much higher price than me."

The man scowled. He knew I was right.

"2 billion," he said.

"3 billion,"

"2 billion or nothing!" he said, getting agitated.

"5 billion or nothing," I said in reply.

"3 billion!"
