"AAAAAAA!!!!!" I screamed as I fell through the floor of trick tower.
I landed on my feet and felt a shock go through my entire body. I looked around and saw a sign above a table with bracelets on it. The sign read, 'Combat, Stealth, Sabotage'. On the table with three bracelets I picked one up and put it on. It had three buttons, X, Y, and Z.
I turned around quickly when I heard trapdoors opening. Through one came the needle man. Gittarackur? Through the other came... the clown. Hisoka. Of course. Of course I just HAD to get the two most dangerous people as partners. So much for laying low. They both looked at me and I tried not to shrink back from their gazes. A voice came from the speakers on the wall, breaking the silence.
"The combat, stealth, or sabotage path. You must move through a path filled with prisoners. You can either choose combat, and fight them, stealth, and sneak by, or sabotage, and try to blend in with them. You will have two parters in this phase. Each of you will chose either combat, stealth, or sabotage. There can only be one per person. The person who chooses combat must win against all opponents and fight anyone who comes their way. The person who chooses stealth must sneak by and get ten flags throughout the tower without being caught. The person who chooses sabotage must blend in with the prisoners and take down ten prisoners without being called out. To pass, all examinees must complete their personal goals and get to the end. If you get to the end without completing your personal task you fail. You can only get to the end with all three bracelets, so you'll want to work together. "
Uh oh. He only said we need the bracelets. Not the people. Maybe they wouldn't figure out that loop hole. And hopefully they wouldn't think they needed to exploit it. Hisoka and Gittarackur put on the two other bracelets and the screen above them switched to say: X: Combat Y: Stealth Z: Sabotage.
"I'll take combat," said Hisoka. Okay. Good.
"I'll take stealth," I said, trying to get it before the pin man could.
"Then I'll do sabotage," he said.
We each pressed out buttons and weapons, cloaks, and other things slid out from the wall. I took a black cloak and some shoe covers that would muffle sound and were the same color as the floor. This was perfect. I was good at stealth. As long as I could turn ghost away from Gittarackur and Hisoka then I would be fine. I could just make the very bottoms of my feet solid and the rest of my body invisible in ghost form, so it would be almost impossible to notice me with the shoe covers on. And as long as I could get flags with no one nearby, I would be fine. I had this. Just avoid my teammates and get the flags. Simple.
I stood before the door and waited for it to open. Hisoka hadn't taken any weapons, and Gittarackur had just taken one of the prisoner outfits. Before the doors opened I used my technique to hide my presence. I felt Gittarackur and Hisoka look at me. I turned my head slightly to look at them through my hood. Why were they looking at me? Why were they paying attention to me? Did they notice my technique?
Thankfully they turned back to the door, and it opened. Inside it was almost like a maze of pathways, with criminals scattered about. There weren't any that could see the door or the area around it, so that made it easier. I split off to the left, and as soon as I was out of sight I went ghost. I breathed out shakily. They could still hear me, so I did have to be careful. But other than that, they would never notice me.
I walked out of the beginning maze like part, and into a hallway with rooms connected to it. Prisoners were everywhere. I didn't see any flags, so I started exploring the rooms. I didn't see Gittarackur, it looked like he was already blended in. Hisoka was fighting the prisoners and had already taken down almost a dozen. I stopped for a moment to watch him fight. It was incredible. He used cards to cut through his opponents with ease and grace. I had never seen anything like it. And I still couldn't find Gittarackur.
