You had been looking forward to today as much as a kid looked forward to Christmas or their birthday.
Busy with work, you had only been able to communicate with your lover via text or phone call, which was simply not good enough for you.
Although she tried to seem as cheerful and upbeat as possible, Dami also was affected by your absence. Every sad smile that was hidden or a soft, disappointed sigh only made you long for the relief of a well-learned break. You learned to read Dami like a book, as she had done to you. That only made your heart ache for her more as you hurriedly finished your final obligations for the day.
Once done, you made your way to her place with a relieved smile on your face.
I'm finally done. Thank God!
You excitedly knock on the door as you wait for her to answer. It feels like eternity passes before Dami answers.
"Ah, you made it-"
She's barely able to get out those four words before you wrap your arms around her.
"I missed you so much, Dami." You mutter into her body as you enjoy the warm feeling of her just... being there with you.
"I missed you too." She places her arms around you before giving you a warm hug.
Eventually, the moment fizzles out as you pull away from her. You admire her beautiful facial features, from her soft lips to her beautiful eyes, before you realize that there's one last thing that you need to do.
Without another word to be said, you press a quick, warm kiss to her cheek. She laughs, which leaves you confused.
"I think you missed." She points to her lips, and you laugh along with her.
"Ah, I see. I guess I should try again, huh?"
You kiss her lips, and you feel yourself slip into a much better state of mind. This would be the best weekend ever, thanks to the presence of your wonderful girlfriend.
