Kissing your best friend was an interesting prospect, but a scary one nonetheless.
Your best friend, Dami, had been on dates before, but none of them ended well enough for her to give out a kiss. You were scared about being her first kiss, partly because she would be your first kiss as well.
Hesitations aside, you eagerly knock on her door, and she answers after a few moments of silence.
"Hey, you didn't call ahead of time like you usually do. Is something up?" Dami leans against the doorway as you present her with a physical copy of her favorite movie.
"Sorry about that. I should've came and asked if you were busy, but I saw this movie while I was shopping and I couldn't help but pick it up."
You didn't even ask her if she wanted to watch the movie with you. God, you're really showing how bad you are at romance!
"That's very kind of you, Y/N. I actually don't have any plans tonight, so..." She trails off while fidgeting with the movie in her hands, "do you want to watch this with me?"
You nearly interrupted her with your reply.
"I'd love to!"
"Come in, then. I'll make us some popcorn."
Dami let you inside the house before shutting the door behind you.
Her house is so well-decorated. I always manage to forget, even though I come over at least once a week!
While admiring the interior of her home, you manage to make your way into the living room.
I can't wait to watch this movie with her!

It's way past dark by the time the movie credits roll. You have to fight back a yawn before setting your popcorn bowl on a nearby table.
I forgot how good that movie was!
"Thanks for bringing me that movie. It meant a lot that you remembered that about me." Dami turns to you, and you feel your nerves settle in your stomach as you try to calmly answer her back.
Have her eyes always been so captivating?
"It's really not a big deal. I just wanted to do something nice for someone important in my life." You carefully dodge the word friend, trying to not friendzone yourself in the process.
"Can I ask you something?"
"You already did." You joke as a slight smile appears on her face.
"How come you never go on any dates? You have had people interested in you, but you always turn them down."
You become visibly embarrassed as you try to explain your way out of this.
"I... uh- I've just-" You sigh in defeat before admitting the truth. "I've had my eye on this girl for a long time, and I can't see myself with anyone else but her."
"Ah, I see. Do I know them?"
You laugh nervously.
I mean, as long as you know yourself, then you're good!
"Yup." You fidget with your fingers with not making direct eye contact with Dami.
You can do this, Y/N! This is your make-or-break moment!
"IreallylikeyouandIhaveforawhilebutIhavebeenscaredtoaskyououtbecauseIthinkyouwillrejectmebecauseyouaresooutofmyleague."
"Y/N, I need you to slow down for me." Amused, Dami reaches over and squeezes your arm in reassurance.
"I.... I really like you, and I have for a really long time. I've been scared to ask you out because I think you'll reject me. God, Dami, you're literally perfect and so out of my league!" Exasperated and expecting reject, you lean against the couch for support.
"Why didn't you say something before? I wouldn't have gone on all of those dates if you would've told me sooner."
"Really?" You look at her in disbelief.
"Really."
Because of the intimacy of the moment, you feel yourself scoot closer to Dami. She does the same until it feels like everything but your lips is touching her body.
"Well, then, if you don't mind..." You trail off, looking at her lips before making eye contact with Dami.
"Go right ahead."
You kiss Dami with every pent-up emotion in your body, and you're finally able to release everything into one single spot.
A simple movie night between two friends turns into something that neither of them will want to forget.
