Anaya POV
The little girl and boy ran to Amar embracing him tightly as if he'd disappear.
"Abba what took you so long?" The little girl asked.
"I had to get Anaya here baby. Don't worry I'm back and I'm not going anywhere." He said. After a long moment of hugging he broke the embrace and turned to me. "Anaya this is my mom, son and daughter." He said.
"Assalamu Alaikum" I greeted. We all sat down enjoying tea and sweets until his mother said to get some rest. With that we left and he led me to his room. I bathed and changed then sat the bed waiting for him to put his kids to bed. After a few minutes he returned and sat down beside me.
"We need to talk" He said after a long and uncomfortable silence.
"That we do" I said looking at my hands.
"I was married for 3 years during which we had Binyameen and Azizah. Their mother left us after Azizah turned was a few months and Binyameen had just turned a year old. She said she didn't want this and that she loved someone else. She wished to divorce and we did. We now live in a world where divorces are common." He said holding his head.
"Let's get some sleep. We can continue talking about this in the morning." I said going to the couch as I felt highly uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed as a stranger.
"You take the bed. I'm used to falling asleep on the couch anyway." He said grabbing his pillow and a blanket. I lied on the bed lost in thought. I wondered how Ari and Yani were doing. I felt so lonely without them. Suddenly Hudaifah popped in my head and I could help but thinking about how hurt he must be. I internally groaned feeling so much guilt as I've hurt him. A few more thoughts came to my mind before I finally fell asleep.
