"That innocent smile is a wild sight."
Kim Taehyung POV: Queendrome Of Ghosts
My legs throbbed hitting each step of the vast pedestrian crossing, curses and sirens both fluently played an alarming tone of more patients from different departments in pain, despite my work being done it felt like it has just begun.
I heard the same compliments throughout, patients crying over what a life saver I was to them but what they should've known I was a combination of a life saver and taker; just like the rain pinning down harshly on my bare fingertips creating drops of sting but at the same time it showered lovingly on blooming flowers in the dimmed street.
I could only stop due to the overpowered guilt of last week's incident, the car reflected my sorrowful face painted with dripples of rain.
Bloodshot eyes were wrapped around a darkened eyebag, the loss of my glow was deserved after being the cause of the unexpected loss of the ghost's life. I gulped down sharply as I opened the cold car yet I didn't start the engine.
All of the sudden, I heard harsh knocks on my window yet I had no will to turn around or inspect why.
Another knock.
With frustration I lowered down the window where I was met with a sweaty, stressed, way older colleague: "Anything wrong?"
"A suicide bomb took place from one of our apartment's patients..." He was hesitant to explain, I raised my eyebrows to expect a full answer.
"And?"
"That patient was mine, so I'm..."
"Fired." I ended his horrid statement, putting me in shock too, we were both the only people in the psychiatrist department.
"A suicide bomb? But ghosts can't die, why?" I said but I also tried to convince myself due to the sudden flashback of blood on my hands. I squinted my eyes, triggered.
"Drugs monopolised his whole system." He replied with an answer I expected.
"So, my friend, you'll have to be in charge of the whole department until a newcomer arrives." He leaned on my car with a glow of tears.
"I'm better off going now." He turned around for his exit.
Rapidly, I opened the car entering the harsh night and gave him a hug.
"Bomin. I'll try to get you back to where you are." I pleaded using a token of certainty to make him believe he had a chance.
"Child, I'm long gone." His oldened voice announced.
