My eyes was closed while resting my head on the backrest of the car the whole ride. I just opened my eyes when Dwayne's driven vehicle stopped. I looked outside the window and notice where on the side road where many children are there.

Nakakunot noong tinignan ko si Beatrice sa front seat na inaayos muna ang sarili at doon ko lang napansin ang mga librong nakapatong sa hita niya.

Beatrice shifted her position to looked at me. Ngumiti siya sa akin at nagsalita.

"I promise those kid na tuturuan ko sila that's why where here." aniya nito.

"Ba't 'di mo sa'kin sinabi agad?" Naiirita kong sabi.

Beatrice is a teacher. At gawain niya talaga itong pagtuturo sa mga batang kalye sa tuwing bumibisita siya dito.

"Kilala kita, madali kang mairita at mainip. But don't worry this won't take that long."

I glanced outside the window to see the children. Mukang kanina pa sila naghihintay kay Beatrice para turuan sila.

Tumikhim ako. "Fine. Fine." I rolled my eyes. "Just finish it immediately. I'm tired." I said as I back resting my head on the backrest and close my eyes, arms crossing on my chest.

"Okay." I heard her. "Babe, let's go?"

"Yeah."

Narinig kong nagbukas sarado ang pintuan ng sasakyan. Sigurado na akong nasa labas na sila at nagsisimula nang turuan ang mga batang iyon.

I wonder where's their parents. Why do they let their children stay in the street? And why are they on the street instead of being in school and studying?

Sighing and shaking my head, 'Bakit pa sila nag-anak kung hindi din naman nila sila kayang alagaan at suportahan?'

Gusto ko ng umuwi at humilata sa kama pero hindi ko naman magawa. At bored na ako dito sa loob ng sasakyan, syempre mag-isa lang ako at walang makausap dahil sumunod si Dwayne sa girlfriend niyang abalang nagtuturo sa mga batang kalye.

I slowly open my eyes and tilted my head to the side to look outside the window. I absentmindedly looked at Dwayne. Nakaupo ito sa may gilid at kapansin-pansin ang taglay niyang kagwapuhan. Hindi ko maiwasang mas lalong humanga sa kaniya. He's looking at Beatrice that busy talking, may malapad na ngiti sa kaniyang labi at doon palang, sa mga titig niya palang na binibigay kay Beatrice malalaman mo nang sobra nitong mahal ang dalaga.

I rolled my eyes. "As if they'll last long."

I bite my lower lip as I open the cars door and went outside the car. The moment I went out, Dwayne looked at me and our eyes met. And my heart went crazy, as usual.

Ngumisi ako at taas noong noong naglakad palapit sa kaniya. Hindi ko alam pero sa kaniya lang nakatuon ang buong atensyon ko at ganoon din siya na titig na titig sa akin.
