"Scarlet, don't run."

Pagpapaalala ko kay Scarlet na nagtatakbo na naman na tila hindi ito napapagod.

We've been here for an hour or so. At hindi pa nakakaramdam ng pagod si Scarlet unlike her brother Yvo. Yvo seems so bored.

Nakabusangot ito na wari pagod na pagod.

"Yvo, you okay?" I couldn't help but asked my eldest.

"I'm tired, mama." He said.

My son Yvo is a straightforward kid. Kung may ayaw siya o pagod na siya sasabihin niya agad ng diretsyahan.

"Oh, okay okay, you stay here, hahabulin ko lang sandali ang kambal mo then we'll go to the ice cream factory, okay?"

Yvo nodded bored. He really looks like his father. "Yes, mama."

"Wait here, okay?"

Hindi ko na hinintay na magsalita pa siya agad kong sinundan si Scarlet. Mabuti nalang at hindi ganun kadami ang tao ngayon sa mall.

"Scarlet, anak." I called my daughter.

Lumingon naman agad ito sa akin. At patakbong lumapit sa akin na may malapit na ngiti.

"Look, mommy, I want that big stuffed toy po." Aniya habang nakaturo ang daliri sa malaking kulay pink na stuffed toy na nakadisplay. "Please, I want that po, mommy ." Pagpapa-cute pa ng anak sa akin.

I sighed. Seeing the stuffed toy I know it worth a thousand pesos. Kahit gustuhin ko man bilhin iyon ay hindi ko kaya. Sakto lang ang perang meron ako at plano ko pa silang dalhin sa paborito nilang fastfood chain.

I kneel in front of her para magpantay ang height naming dalawa. "Anak, can we buy it next time?" I asked her softly.

"Why can't we buy it now, mommy? I really want that po." She said slight sobbing.

My heart aches seeing my daughter like this. "Mommy can't afford to buy that for now. But I promise you, once mommy got the salary we will buy that, hmm."  I assure her.

She bowed her hair, crying. My heart totally breaks with this scenario. And I hate this kind of feeling.

"I'm sorry, anak, if mommy can't buy want you want for now." I said and hugged her.

I hushed my daughter who was crying in my shoulder now. I sighed while gently caressing her back.

"Babawi nalang si mommy kapag nakasahod na siya ah." I shushed her.

"Pa'no po kapag wala na po iyong toy na gusto ko?" She cried.

I stood up and carry Scarlet. I walked back where I left Yvo. And I saw him talking to a man wearing a suit.

Pumintig ng mabilis at malakas ang dibdib ko. It can't be. Kahit taon na nakakaraan, pamilyar na pamilyar parin sa akin ang postura niya. Kilalang kilala ko parin siya until now.

"I can help you find your mother, kiddo." That deep cold baritone voice.

I miss his voice.

Gayunpaman sobra-sobrang kaba ang nararamdaman ko sa mga oras na ito. Anong ginagawa niya dito? Bakit siya nandito? At mas lalo lang akong nakaramdam ng takot ng tawagin ako ni Yvo at lumapit ito sa akin.

"Mama!" Yvo hugged my waist.

Dwayne turn to see us. I was just there looking at him. I can see shock in his eyes as he stared at me. But seconds passed, agad napalitan ng galit at pagkamuhi ang mga mata niyang nakatingin sa akin.
