"Yo," I greeted Isaiah as he let me into the house. I dapped him up and walked past him, joining my friends on the couch.

"Nigga you looked like you haven't slept in weeks," Ski laughed.

I shook my head. "Shit, it feels like it. I need like an extra nap or something."

I hadn't seen my friends in a few days, so when I heard that they were all linking up at Stokeley's to smoke, I wasted no time in coming over. On some sentimental shit, I missed my friends and some downtime with them was sure to pick up my mood.

"Was Lucy on one?" Robb asked, referring to her behavior when I dropped the kids off.

I shook my head once more. "Nah, no problems. She was behaving surprisingly well, she was nice to me and everything."

"She probably getting dicked down," Ski replied.

"I don't even wanna think about that shit, man," I mumbled. "But I guess, better someone else get attached to her than me."

"Oh, I did mean to tell you," Ski suddenly perked up. "Zaria wanted to go over to Lucy's to see Yoyo, if that was cool with her."

Zaria Star was my niece, Ski's daughter, who was the same age as Ichiyo. The two were partners in crime, literally. But we didn't mind. Ski and I always wanted to have kids and have them be as close to each other as we were. It was honestly heartwarming seeing our friendship reincarnate as our children. Shit was trippy if I really sat and thought about it.

Lucy and I weren't together and we'd basically cut ties together on everything but our children. She didn't want to be involved with any of my friends, which included my friends' kids. So sometimes when Lucy was feeling some type of way she wouldn't let Zaria come over to see Ichiyo while the kids were over there. But more often than not she swallowed her pride and allowed her to come over, because Ichiyo and Zaria were raised as cousins and couldn't go more than a couple days without seeing each other. Ski and I's houses were always open to one another, so the girls could come and go as they pleased.

"I'll text her right now, I'm sure she'll say yes because she seemed like she was in a good mood today."

hey can zaria come over?

"Speaking of, how's Yoyo?" Stokeley asked.

"Having an attitude, as always," I sighed.

"Remind you of anyone, Jah?" Isaiah teased.

"Shut the fuck up." I smiled. "You know how hard it is dealing with three kids that have attitude problems?"

"Don't talk about my favorite niece like that," Ski said, alluding to Xiorra. "You know my baby don't got no damn attitude problem."

"Maybe not, but she tantrums until she gets what she wants."

"Because you spoil them," Robb said bluntly.
