"Are you ready for the best years in your life?" my father asked me as soon as I got into the car.

"John, stop." My mother sighed heavily. "I'm sorry, darling. I just- you've grown into a young lady and I didn't realize it until you got your acceptance letter." I sent a small smile at her before telling her I'm gonna be alright.

Once we got into the building, my father quickly helped me with my stuffs and carried them to the dorm. My room is located on the second floor. I opened the door with my key which I got just a week ago. After saying goodbye to my parents and walking them to the parking lot, I walked slowly to my room. It's still ten in the morning.

The building isn't too bad. I actually quite like it. I was about to unpack my clothes when the door opened once again. For a second I thought it was my mom again but I was wrong. There is a curly haired bloke standing awkwardly at the door.

"Uh- sorry, I thought it was Shanna's room," he said while scratching his back. I just smiled at him before walking to the door. "Freshman?" he asked and I nodded. "I'm Harry by the way."

He is offering his long hand. "I'm Grace," I told him while shaking his hand.

He is wearing a black 'Nirvana' t-shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans. I almost burst into laughter when I saw that he is wearing a brown boots. Who the hell wearing boots and a 'Nirvana' shirt at the same time? But I kept my mouth shut before he continued.

"Lovely. Welcome to University of Manchester, Grace." He greeted me with a smile. Two cute dimples are prominent. "I gotta get going but I'll see you around, I guess?" his tone was unsure.

I giggled for a second before answering him. "Yes, of course you will. See you around, Harry."

My first day in uni was uneventful. After unpacked my stuffs, I gave a little decoration to the wall, that was when my roommate got in. Her name is Lucy Williams and I was slightly surprised with her strong American accent.

It was three in the afternoon when my stomach basically groaned in hunger. Lucy laughed out loud, making her ginger red hair shaking wildly. We decided to have burgers as our lunch and then walking towards the campus for no reason. I guess, we just wanted to be familiar with our surrounding and basically we don't know anyone else here- except Harry, that is.

Lucy is pretty if I say to myself. We talked a lot of things on our way back to the dorm. She came from Oklahoma and taking Psychology as her major meanwhile I came from Brighton and taking Literature as my major. She is recently single- thank God, I'm not the only one.

"I heard there is a party tonight at someone's house. Do you want to come?" she asked me after we got into our room.

Party is not exactly my thing. It's not like I hate it, I just find myself uncomfortable with the thought of it. "I'm gonna pass. There are so many things I have to do tonight and that's including video-calling my mum." And then she was laughing again. I must admit her free soul. She shot me are-you-kidding-me look but I just shake my head before joining her in laughter. "She was so sad, okay? I just don't want her to be upset about me being in uni."

"Okay okay-" she was slowly calming down. "I'm not gonna force you but I need to go out tonight or my head gonna explode. I need someone to fuck me tonight so I can forget about my jerk ex-boyfriend." I didn't mean to gasp but somehow I did. Her choice of word is surprising me. "Sorry," she said after seeing my expression turned into horror.

"It's okay. I just didn't exactly picture you to be so.. blunt," I said to her quietly but she just laughed. Well, isn't she really something.

However, time went quickly as I spent my night with Looking For Alaska. It is now ten and I'm starting to regret my decision to not buy any food earlier. There is no other choice here, so I quickly grabbed my wallet and put my phone into my pocket before wearing my coat.
