Nezuko hummed a song her mother used to sing as she walked through town. Tanjiro tapped the beat on the wood of the box. The sun set shone bright above the two, the purples and blues mixing beautifully, and her crow squawked above her.

"North! Noth!" It screeched.

"I heard ya the first time," Nezuko sighed. Buildings passing by her and families out enjoying the sun. Nezuko's uniform had a skirt that touched her knees and a pink asanoha hemp leaf haori, white zori sandles and pink asanoha tobi socks.

Nezuko turned her gaze to the ground as the sun set. Buildings passed and parents ushered their children inside the safety of their homes. She had gotten some strange looks from passerby's mostly glancing at the sword in the hands of a fourteen-year-old but, Nezuko was too much in her own head to notice, she was mulling over everything her crow had explained about this mission (which wasn't much) and everything Keizo told her before she left.

"The village just passed mount nagatoro, has been attacked by a demon," she mumbled to herself, echoing the words of her crow. "Just gotta find some evidence of a demon."

Being quite new to this, Nezuko turned her head as she walked, trying her best to check behind every corner. Keeping her hands tight on the straps of the box, the last door shut for the night. The sun was gone, set far behind the mountains and layers of trees.

Now it was just Nezuko and the demon.

She wandered through the village for a little longer before hearing leaves rustle. Whipping her head in the direction of the noise, she barely missed the little feet of something.

"Uh, hello?" Nezuko said, at first, she thought it was another child. A little kid who hadn't gone inside yet. "Can I bring you somewhere safe? It's dangerous to be out this late!"

As she crept toward the sound, she got a quick breeze of late summer air. The figure that passed from before was crouched in the corner of a small alleyway.

A little girl with two low ponytails sat with her back to Nezuko, two chipped butterfly clips held her hair together. She wore a torn white dress and no shoes. Something strange came from her neck, a small but long white...thing... Nezuko wasn't sure, it looked silk like.

"Excuse me," Nezuko tried for a smile, she needed to get this girl out of the area. If a demon tried something, she didn't know if she could split her attention. "Can I take you ins-"

The girl turned and leaped, her eyes black and her mouth dripping with blood.

She already got someone? Nezuko ripped her sword from the sheath, slashing forward. Nezuko stumbled back and Sumi growled, her fangs bare and the murder in her eyes was clear.

"'kay," Nezuko mumbled. "Nice to meet you too."

Sumi's face cracked with veins and her mouth formed a growl. She had some strange purple dots around her head, on either side of her forehead. Clearly not friendly and probably the demon Nezuko was sent here for. Sumi lunged again and Nezuko rebutted with water breathing: eight form.

"Waterfall Basin!" She thrusted her sword down on top of Sumi crushing her under the weight. Though that wasn't enough, the small demon craned her neck just before the blade could land and Sumi was free.

Another growl sounded from behind Nezuko, she turned, facing another little girl who looked surprisingly similar, small black eyes and butterfly clips holding together two braids. She wore a uniform, or at least that's what it looked like, a white dress with a green bow tied around the waist and black stockings. Her face was covered in bulging veins and purple dots that bubbled from a dark purple to a light lavender.
