you are made of knots,
lovers' stitches the delicate thread of your veins, the darker shards of your knuckles like the thickened roots of an ancient tree,
the soft cusp of your hair, knitted against the hollow between my neck and shoulder. the curve where my skin learns the flavor of yours,
i, i find you where the stars meet the earth, in every crease of your lovely bones (and the spaces in between), the tender craft in the lines of your cheeks, i would keep your love safe forever, and then beyond that. with your hands folded in mine,
