Chapter 2

Y/n POV

I wake up with Maya on my bed. I sit up and pet her face, as well as her belly. She wakes up from me petting her belly.

Y/n:"Come on time for breakfast." I say

Immediately she jumps up and off the bed at the word breakfast. I get out of bed chuckling. I go through my morning routine, and eventually put my uniform on. I grab my weapons and open the door leaving with Maya behind me. We walk through the hallways till we get to a door leading outside. I put on my exopack and open the door, Maya immediately exits the complex. I follow after her, she runs all the way to the pen while I'm still walking there. By the time I get there the thanator and the rest of the viperwolfs are in front of the gate. A viperwolf starts to chirp when he sees me. I chuckle and walk up to the gate. I bend down and pet his face through the holes of the gate. I stand back up and unlock the gate. The thanator pushes it right open knocking me on the ground. It notices this and softly nuzzles my chest.

Y/n:"It's alright boy." I say patting his head

I stand up and walk back to the compound. When I get there I grab the door nob and turn to the pack.

Y/n:"Stay here." I say

They all get comfortable, and I open the door heading inside, after it's pressurized. I then immediately head to the cafeteria. Once I get there I find the person giving food.

Y/n:"Do you have any raw meat?" I ask

??:"Yeah, why?" She asks

Y/n:"It's a strange request but I need 50 lb of raw meat. A wheelbarrow with a divider in it, 30 lb in on side, 20 in the other." I say

She's shocked but leaves, she eventually comes back with a wheelbarrow of meat. I nod my head and take the wheelbarrow. I walk it through the base and eventually get outside. The entire pack except the thanator starts running around. I take the 20 pounds and give it the the wolf's. I then take the 30 lb a little bit away and give it the thanator who followed me over. He eats it up in a little less than 3 minutes. I look over and the wolf's are also done eating with a little meat left over.

Y/n:"Right time to train." I say

We start with following commands. They get that one down quickly. I also teach them to sit, lie down, and a few other tricks. After a few hours of training I lay down in my back looking at the sky. Maya lays her head on my chest and falls asleep. My radio then goes off.

Radio:"L/n, Quaritch wants you in the command room." The operator say

I grab the radio and respond.

Y/n:"Copy that, on my way." I say

I sit up and Maya looks at me. I then pat her head softly and stand up causing her to have to move. I then walk back to the pen and open the door all of them walk in except Maya.

Y/n:"Come on don't be like that, I'll come back soon." I say

She then walks inside the pen, and I close the gate. I then head back to the base. Once I'm in the base I walk to the command room. Once I get there I see Jack, Quaritch, and Selfride. Also other soldiers.

Selfridge:"Ah there he is, Y/n you and Jake are going to be security for Dr. Augustin, as well as Lyle Wainfleet." He says

Quaritch looks at me.

Quaritch:"She will probably not like it but, she'll have to deal with it. I also don't want you taking the pack yet. I want to keep them a secret from the Na'vi. If they somehow figure out about them we will know it's either Grace, or Jake." He say

Y/n:"Why would Jake tell them?" I ask him

Quartich:"Because Jake is going to try and meet with them. He's going to be giving us information about them. Useful information, understand?" He ask
