It was a somewhat chilly autumn day, stacking boxes and sorting out coffee flavors in the back at the small cafe you work at.
You hear the door open from the front of the shop, Another customer no doubt.
You take a peek from the side of the back door, to take a look at whoever had just walked in.

You smile somewhat as you see who it was.
"Hawks." You thought to yourself as you stared at the winged hero.

His swooped back, dirty blond hair catching the light from the sunlight coming from the windows.
You realize you are staring, and move away from the door fame to put on your apron.

I walk up to the counter of this small coffee shop I go to every so often for coffee, before my patrol shift starts. I pretty much order the same thing every time.. hey what can I say? I'm a man of habit. I see one of the workers go back to the back, I smile to myself as I rang a little bell at the counter. Hoping it would get your attention.
"you hiding from me coffee boy?" I say in a laid back playful tone.

I roll my eyes and smile as I put my apron on, and walk to behind the counter.
You and the winged hero had been friendly acquaintances for a couple weeks now. The hero would come in for coffee every once and a while.

"Hiding? Oh yeah you sure caught me." You said with a smile and a sarcastic tone. You don't bother getting a pen and paper to write down the hero's order. He always gets the same thing, you memorized it.
"So, should I bother asking what you'd like?" You said with a smile and a raised eyebrow.

"Nope, the usual please" the hero said with a wink and a cocky smile.

You nodded, quickly going into the back to make him his coffee. You could feel your face get warmer as a pink blush appeared on your cheeks.
'God damn it. Why is that asshole so pretty? He is such a flirt, and it always gets to me.' You thought to yourself while you made his coffee.

You finished the drink and added a packet of sugar to it. You added a lid to the top, and headed out to behind the counter to hand it to the hero.
The blush on your cheeks still prominent as you go to the cash register and ring him up for the coffee.
"So, you stopping by before your patrol?"
You ask, curious.

"Actually I have the day off, may or may not being playing hookie." I said with a sly smile.
"..speaking of work,"
I say while taking out 300 yen to pay for my coffee. "When do you get off shift?" I finished my sentence.

You were slightly taken back by the implication of the hero's question. "In a couple hours, why?" I asked with a slight eyebrow raise.
You see the winged hero shrug somewhat. "Just curious." He said and took a sip of his coffee.

I take a sip off my coffee. It had a slight hint of sugary sweetness too it."hey, did you add sugar to the coffee?" I asked taking another sip.

"Oh yeah I did actually, is it bad? I could remake it" I say. Beating myself up about it internally. 'Shit. He never asks for sugar when he's orders here. I'm such an idiot.' You think to yourself.

"No actually I like it." The hero said with a smile he took another sip. "Say, is there anything else sugary you got here?" He said with a slight head tilt.
You were presently surprised. Glad the hero enjoyed the coffee, despite you making a mistake. "Maybe, I'll go check." You say and head to the back.
You look around a bit, and then you find a jar full of lollipops and other sweets. You grab a lollipop and go back out to the front.

"Good news, I found a lollipop. Guess you're in luck"
I say and hand it to the hero.

"I guess it is my lucky day,.." I say as I unwrap the lollipop and pop it in my mouth. "If it's such a lucky day then.., would it be pushing my luck to ask you out on a date?" I say with a slight smirk, holding the lollipop in-between my teeth.

Your heart races, you can feel the butterflies in your stomach. You let out a nervous chuckle and looked away for a moment, trying to get a handle on yourself. You clear your throat trying not to stutter, "depends on where you plan to take me"

You say, feeling own your heartbeat. Your reply made you even more flustered as you realized the situation you are in is actually happening. You quickly spoke again "that was a yes, by the way." You blurred out.

You see the hero lift an eyebrow, he was seeming to notice how flustered you were.

I raised my eyebrow somewhat, and smirked softly. "I don't know where I'd take you, depends on what you want. You more of a causal or more fancy person?" I asked as I lightly played with the lollipop in my mouth, my tongue swirling around the base of the sugary treat.

You listened to the hero's words, before even replying to him, your eyes focused on the lollipop he had. Seeing the way his tongue moved made my stomach felt like it was caving into itself. The electric feeling I had in my chest.. it was something that I had never felt before.
You managed to open your mouth and speak.

"I uh.., I can go both ways." You say.

I raise my eyebrow somewhat "both ways huh? Excited to find out what that means." I say with a wink and I hand you a piece of paper with phone number on written on it. "That's my number, I'll call you sometime after you're off work."
