Days had passed since the crash and yet everyone remained optimistic that rescue was coming. They spent the time scavenging through the debris that washed on shore every morning, swimming, and getting to know each other. They had even played a game where they said one fact about themselves.

Cassie told them that she had been to 17 countries and each state at least once. Taylor said that his name was actually Ivan and his last name was Taylor, which surprised Cassie. It turned out that Henry and Seth were step-brothers, Raf was bilingual which wasn't really a surprise. Scotty and Bo had been best friends since they were about ten, Josh was from California and was allergic to a lot of things and Kirin was a lacrosse player. When Cass heard that she wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue in disgust.

"What?" Kirin asked. "What's with the face?"

"I used to date a lacrosse player. He was a total jerk. He cheated on me with my best friend in my bed."

Scotty shook his head, "Damn that sucks."

"Yeah, it does. I bought a new bed because of it."

"It's okay Sweetie," Ivan patted her knee. "They are all like that. All lacrosse players are the same. They'll cheat on you with your best friend in a heartbeat. So don't get too attached to that one." He gestured towards Kirin who was glowering in the sand.

Cass gave a small smile, "I don't really plan on getting attracted to any of you." She paused to ruffle Josh's hair. "Except maybe Josh. He's like a sweet innocent puppy."

The group erupted into protests, except Raf who was silent, and Henry who was nodding along.

"Makes sense, I mean once we get off this island, we'll never see each other again."

They lapsed into an awkward silence.

That was three days ago, now they were all separated. Each doing their own thing and avoiding others.

Cassie was sitting on one of the hoodies with sunglasses on. She heard feet shuffling and the sand moving, a moment later Seth sat down next to her. Everybody had their own sound when they walked on the sand. Seth shuffled.

"What's up Seth?"

"I had a question, why is your suitcase full of hoodies and bathing suits?"

"Because I packed for Hawaii. The list said to bring swimsuits."

"You brought eleven tops and five pairs of jeans shorts. How long was your retreat supposed to be?"

"Ten days, I brought an extra one because I could and I couldn't decide between two of the tops. I brought sweatshirts because I'm a cold sleeper and I sleep with them."

"What's with the knife?"

"They said we were allowed to bring one weapon, not a gun, and I chose the knife."

The said knife was long and gray, it had a ring on the end and you could throw it. It was laying in the sand right next to Cass.

"Huh," Seth nodded, he was quiet for a minute. "If you were at home, what would you be doing right now?"

Cassie had to think about it, "Probably hanging out with friends. I'm not sure. Maybe taking a nap. What about you?"

"Oh, I'd be eating. I'm so hungry right now."

"Eating sounds nice. I want a big breakfast with pancakes and bacon."

"Eggs."

"A glass of orange juice."

"Waffles with butter and syrup."

"Strawberries."

"Hey, loonies!" Scotty interrupted. "You gonna help build this camp at all?
