Chapter 25: Batman vs Penguin

Batman's POV

Cobblepot's men had me surrounded.

Cobblepot: Put... that... thing... away.

I put away my explosive gel and slowly put my hands up. But I had a smoke pellet in my hand. I quickly throw it down. The smoke surrounds the room. Everyone starts coughing. I tackle one of the men and punch him in the face. The smoke was now starting to clear. I grab another man and elbow him, I then take him to the ground and punch him. The rest of the men who surrounded me now saw me. They all aimed their guns at me. I quickly grab my batarangs and throw it at them. The batarangs take them out. Before I could catch my breath. I feel weight on my back. Cobblepot jumped on my back, he takes his umbrella and puts it in front of my neck and pulls it back towards my neck, choking me.

Cobblepot: It didn't have to be this way! You could've just minded your own bloody business!

I elbow Cobblepot in the face and flip him off of me. He quickly gets up with his umbrella and activates a blade from it. He starts swinging the blade at me. I keep moving back and avoiding the cuts. I then block the umbrella and punch Cobblepot in the face. I then kick the umbrella away from him. He then attempts to punch me, I dodge and punch him back. I then kick him, taking him to a wall. I then take out my explosive gel. I get ready to press the button.

Cobblepot: NO!

I feel pain in my ribs before I was able to press the button, I drop the explosive gel. I look at Cobblepot to see that he had a normal gun in his hand, smoke was coming out of it. He shot me. I put my hand on my ribs to slow down the bleeding. More men comes in and tackles me to the ground. They punch and kick me a few times. They then grab both of my arms and keeps me in a position where I'm looking at Cobblepot. He gets up with his gun and starts limping over. He then aims his gun at my face.

Cobblepot: See you in hell... Batman...

Before he could pull the trigger. Someone kicked him away from me, sending him back and hitting a wall. It was Catwoman!

Batman: Selina...

Catwoman punches one of the men holding my arm. I then grab the other one and flip him on the ground. I then knock him out by punching him in the face.

Catwoman: Came in at the right time...

More men surrounded us.

Batman: We aren't done yet...

Catwoman starts scratching and kicking at the men she's fighting. I punch one of the men I'm fighting and kick the other one. Another man tries punching me, but I grab his fist and sweep his leg, tripping him to the ground. I knew him in the head, knocking him out. There is only two men left.

Catwoman: Incoming, Bats!

Catwoman pushes one of the men to me, I clothesline the man as the men came at me. I then throw the last man in the air towards Catwoman, she jumps in the air and stomps the man onto the ground.

Catwoman: We make one hell of a team.

I pick up the explosive gel from the ground. I then get ready to press the button.

Batman: You might want to step back.

I press the button, which explodes the vault.

Catwoman: We did it, Ba-

Catwoman grunts in pain and falls over as a gunshot goes off. Cobblepot shot her.

Batman: SELINA!!!

I run over and catch her. I put my hand on her gunshot wound to stop the bleeding.

Cobblepot: I'll... get my revenge... Batman...

Cobblepot limps out of the room.

Batman: Selina... no...

Catwoman barely speaks.

Catwoman: Y-Y/N...

Batman: Selina...?

Catwoman: Go after him... I'll be fine... go...

I look at the door. I then call Alfred.

Batman: Alfred, call the GCPD...

Alfred: Already on their way, sir.

I look back at Catwoman.

Batman: The GCPD are on their way.

Catwoman: Okay... now go...

I run out the building to chase Cobblepot.
