Chapter 26: Chase

Batman's POV

I make it outside. I see Cobblepot make it to a car. He starts driving away. I quickly press a button on my gauntlet, an engine can be heard. The Batmobile autodrives to me. I quickly get in and chase after Cobblepot.

I see Cobblepot driving fast on the road. I quickly catch up to him. I bump the rear of his car, Cobblepot speeds up and takes a hard left turn onto another road. I also take the turn and stay on his trail. We go up into a highway. There are other cars on the highway. Cobblepot was able to use the cars as shields, and would pass them whenever he could. I do the same thing, without hitting the other cars. I call Gordon.

Batman: Jim!

Gordon: Batman?

Batman: Did the GCPD arrive at the last vault?

Gordon: They did. They are taking care of Selina. Where are you?

Batman: Cobblepot is trying to escape. I am currently chasing him around Gotham. Are there any other cops you can send?

Gordon: I believe so. There should be so patrols soon.

I continue to stomp on the gas. We get off a highway. Which results us to getting on another empty road. Once again, I was catching up with Cobblepot. He takes another sharp turn. I miss the turn.

Batman: DAMNIT!

I use Detectice Mode to see where Cobblepot was heading to. I see a road where I could catch up. I continue to go straight. After passing a few buildings, I go right, where I'm about to bump into Cobblepot. He sees me before I could bump into him.

Cobblepot: COME ON!!!

Cobblepot drifts and goes right, I remain on his trail. I see him roll down his window. He starts shooting at me with his gun. But the Batmobile is armored. He then turns to another road. I follow him. We see a semi truck. I see Cobblepot drift and knock it over. The container falls off, I pull the lever to boost the speed of the Batmobile and use the ramp for the container holder to go into the air. I make it all the way to Cobblepot and crash into him. His car goes flying, he rotated in the air a few times before crashing on the ground. He is now upside down. I stop the Batmobile and get out. It was raining. I slowly walk over to the car that Cobblepot is in. I then look inside to see Cobblepot hurt, and looking at me in fear.

Short Timeskip

The GCPD arrived. Cobblepot is cuffed and is being put inside of a GCPD car. Gordon is also here.

Gordon: Thank you, Batman. Because of you, the Penguin is now going to be behind bars.

Batman: I didn't do this alone...

I look at Gordon.

Batman: How is she...?

I was scared to ask.

Gordon: She's fine. We patched her. We were going to send her to the hospital, but she refused.

Batman: Can you do one thing for her?

Gordon gives me a confused look.

Gordon: What would that be?

Batman: Clear her record. Give her another chance. She isn't as bad as people may think. I know that.

Gordon: Well... considering what she did recently... we'll do it. Consider her record clean.

Batman: Good...

I feel relieved.

Batman: Do you know where she is currently?

Gordon: She said something about going to her old apartment. I believe you would know where that is?

Batman: I do...
