We drove for about 10 minutes after we talked. We pulled up in front of this cute, homey little restaurant right out of town. It looked friendly and simple.
It was called 'El café de Sencillo'. Aka, 'The Simple Café'.
I laughed at that.
Li looked at me weird and I had to tell him.
"I thought it looked friendly and simple. Then I looked at the name of it. It says 'The Simple Café'." I said and he was shocked that I understood what it said.
I got out of the car and so did Liam. We stopped in front of the car and he pouted at me.
"What's up babe?" I asked.
"I was going to open the door for you." He said.
"Aww. Its OK. If there are no paps after then you can open the door for me then. Is that OK?" I said.
"Can I have a kiss to make up for it?" He asked and I chuckled.
I leaned in and pressed my lips to his. I pulled away after about 10seconds.
He grabbed my hand and led me to the front of the restaurant.
"I found this place a few years ago. When we moved in. I'm like a regular here." He said and I nodded in understanding.
We walked in and were met by a tiny Hispanic woman.
"Hola. ¿Comó estas?" She asked.
"Hola. Mug bien. ¿Y tú?" I said and both her and Liam were surprised by my Spanish being so fluent sounding.
"¿Tú hablas ingles?' I asked her and she shook her head 'yes'.
"A little." She said with a thick Mexican accent.
"OK. If you can, can you please talk in english? If you don't know how to say something or understand something I say, you can say it in Spanish." I said and she nodded.
She led us to a table and said that she would have somebody here to take our order in a few minutes.
Li helped me in my chair and I thanked him.
I looked over the menu and saw that it was actually all in English.
A few minutes after I started looking at the menu, someone walked up.
"Hi. What drink would you like to start off with?" A familiar voice asked.
I looked up and saw that it was Matt from school.
"Matt!" I exclaimed.
"Michelle!" He exclaimed back.
I got up and gave him a quick hug, as to not make Liam mad.
"What are you doing here? Do you work here? Or are you here because of family?" I asked him.
"I work here, but its also my aunt that owns the place." He explained.
"Who is this?" He asked and I smiled and turned my head to face Liam.
"This is my boyfriend. Liam Payne. Liam. This is Matt from school. He saved me from sitting alone on my first day in the lunchroom." I said and explained when I saw how tense Li looked.
"Oh. OK. Ho Matt" he said and Matt said hi back to him.
"So, what can I get you to drink?" He asked us.
I ordered a root beer and Liam ordered a water.
"Really Li? A water?" I said with a chuckle.
"Yes. Water is healthy. And root beer is not really." He said.
"Haha. Its cute that you care about your health when you're a vamp." I said and he chuckled.
"Here you go guys." Matt said as he came back with our drinks.
We both thanked him and he nodded back to us.
"Are you ready to order or are you still needing a few minutes?" He asked.
"I don't know about him, but I'm ready to order. Can I please have the lasagna? With extra mushrooms?" I asked and he nodded as he wrote it down.
"I'm ready too. Can I have the steak? Medium rare? And some steak sauce maybe?" Liam ordered and Matt also wrote that down.
"Alright. I'll be right back." He said and walked off.
"So, he saved you from what? Sitting alone on your first day?" Li asked me and I nodded.
I was feeling very embarrassed.
I put my head down and Liam reached across the table and lifted it back up. My face was pink from me blushing.
"Its OK. Don't put your head down when you blush. You are very pretty with blush. And you don't have to be embarrassed. It happens to all of us." He said and I nodded.
"So, how was school? Other than that." He asked.
"I kinda threatened a few people because they were bullying some of matt's friends." I said and his eyes went wide. "But other than that, everything else was alright." I finished.
"Wait. You did what? Threatened somebody for a few other people?" He said appalled and I nodded.
Then Matt came back with our food.
We thanked him and then I talked.
"Didn't I threaten that jerk for being mean to your friends at lunch?" I asked him.
"Yes. You did. I was kind of scared of you for a little bit after that. But it was awesome though." He said very enthusiastically.
"OK. You have a witness. I believe you now." He said.
"I'm going to go now and check up on the other people, but let me know when you are ready to leave and I'll get your check." He said and walked off.
For the next 20-30 minutes we sat and ate and talked very comfortably.
Matt came over to see if we were done and we said yes.
He gave us our check and we paid and walked out hand in hand.
"On surprised there aren't any paps." I said after we came out of the restaurant and there wasn't any paps.
"I know." He agreed. He opened the door for me and shut it after I got in. He got in the drivers side and we took off for home.
This is a bit longer than I expected it to be.
