Why him?

Ch.7

I woke to the sweet smell of flowers. Why? I slowly open my eyes but all I see is a dark purple. I try to sit up a little but I cant move. Okay, What the heck is going on?! I look up to find the sleeping amd snoring very loudly face of Tavi. Why is he- oh right. Dang he stayed all night? I try to free myself from his grasp, careful not to wake him but he only shifts in his sleep and pulls me closer. Not that this isn't adorable and everything but I have to pee. I'm so focused on trying not to wake him I don't even notice I'm at the edge of the bed and soon I fall off. I skweal a little as I hit the floor and lay there for little bit before heading for the bathroom, checking the time on the way. 6:13 Dang I never wake up this early. I take care of business and look in the mirror. I don't know why but I've been doing this a lot lately. I remember my frustration yesterday when I couldn't cover up the dark circles under my eyes and here they were again. Mocking me. I look through the drawers under the mirror to see if I could find something to try and cover them up...

Don't judge, I'm self conscience like that!

The last drawer that I look in has exatctly what I'm looking for. Sweet! Wait? When I take I closer look at the makeup in my hand and in the drawer I notice that its all the same stuff I have at home... Okay first the clothes now the make up? Somethings up...

My thoughts are interrupted by the same familiar smell from earlier. I follow it back into the main room to find a bouquet of Wisteria. My favourtie... I walk up to the night stand that they are sitting on and fiddle with some of the peddles, puzzled by how they got here. I see something shift in the corner of my eye and turn my attention towards it. Tavi looked up at me half smirking half smileing. His hair was going in every which direction and his purple shirt was all crinkled up. He looked like a hot mess.

"I brought those for you last night in hopes to make up for not being there when you woke up in the infirmary... sorry bout that by the way I had other... stuff to do, not that it was more important than you! I just- ugh that didn't come out right." He rambled. I laugh at his attempts and place a hand on his shoulder.

"Its okay. I understand." I say. He smiles and takes my hand from his shoulder, bringing it to his face and kissing it softly.

"Why must you be so frustratingly easy to be around?" He says, the word muffled slightly by my hand. I snached it back and turn away to hide my blush. Little did I know that he accepted that action as a challenge. He stood up behind me but I noticed him too late and he was soon pinching my sides and tickleing me. I burst into laughter and try to run away from him but he chases me through out the cabin.

"Noo!! Stop!! Tavi quit it!!" I yell trying to evade capture but sadly I'm not the fast and he soon catches me, tackleing me to the ground and pinning me.

"I didn't expect you to be so tickleish." He says through a laugh. "I'll have to remember that."

"You tickle me again and your ass is getting kicked!" I say trying to catch my breath. A loud wheeze escapes my mouth. Damn asthma! Tavi quickly gets off me and looks at me with concern.

"I'm so sorry! I forgot your asthma was so bad!" He says.

"Really Tavi your fine. It's not that big of a deal." I stand and walk over to my pants from yesterday. "Um how did you know my favourite flower is Wisteria?" I say, desperately trying to change the subject.

"Oh um I asked the Demeter cabin and they said the fragrence helps people be happy so... I'm guessing I made the right choice?" he says, still sitting on the floor. The whole time he was talking I faced away from him and silently did what I had to do but still listened to him.

"Yes, you did." I put it away and walk back over to him, sitting in front of him and smile. "Thank you."

"Your welcome." He gives me a sad smile then pulls me closer to him, holding me and starts to play with my hair. "Are you okay? I mean with everything that's happened?"

I freeze. I hadn't thought of it since I was in the underworld. " Yeah, I guess..." I lie. He makes me face him and looks me straight in the eyes.

"I'm serious. I mean you said it your self its not every day all this happens."

I feel the tears start to form but force them back. "True but I really am fine." I give him a smile to ensure he believed my bluff. I think he does and continues to play with my hair. I hate to keep my feelings from him especially when I know he really cares. I just don't really like it when people worry about me because they think I'm sad or weak. That's why I hate my asthma and why I'm not telling Tavi that what happened is killing me. All of a sudden, Jessie slams the door open and yells,

"Get up woman!! Jessie wants foooo- oh well what do we have here?" She looks at Tavi and me.

"Aww! You two are so cute!" Kirstin says behind Jessie.

Jessie give us a 'this is not okay with me' look and puts her hands on her hips. "Do I need to shoot somebodies pinkie toe off?"

"The pinkie toe hangs in the balance." Tori says, next to Jessie. Tavi quickly lets go of me and stands awkwardly. I continue to sit on the floor and make a pouty face at Jessie.

"You can't control my life Jessica!!" I say using a baby voice.

"Baby, I just don't want you to get hurt." She says, giving me an innocent look.

"Jessie if anybody hurts me you'll be the first to know."

"And the first to throw a punch." Tori added. This whole time Tavi is just standing in place and has a look on his face like he'd just seen a zombie. I walk over to him and place a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry Tavi I won't let her hurt you." I say. He smiles down at me and I turn to my friends.

"What the heck are you guys doing here anyway?" I ask slightly annoyed that they ruined a cute moment.

"What part of me barging in here yelling I want food do you not understand?" Jessie says. I open my mouth to say something when a commotion from outside gets all off our attention. Demigods are running and yelling weapons at the ready. Tavi runs to the door, tells me to stay put and and runs out. I was actually going to do what I was told but I hear a familiar sound.
