Why him?

Ch.10

We walk up to the big house. I'm nervous but I'm glad Tavi decided to join us. I grab his hand and he chuckles gripping mine. The big house reminded me of one of the mansion houses in Newnan. Hmm... I wonder how everybody's doing. If the band is worried that we just up and disappeared. We had just finished band camp so we only had afternoon practices two or three days a week for the next two weeks then we were off for the rest of summer. Our show this year was Disney which is awesome because this was our senior year! But if we stayed here we wouldn't be able to enjoy it...

I'm pulled from my thoughts when we walk in the door. It was pretty nice inside. Kinda tacky for all the leopard print and grape decor but nice. There was a group of people sitting in the living room. Some of which I recognized and some I didn't. Percy was sitting next to Annabeth, throwing sausages into the mouth of a mounted leopards head on the wall above the mantel. Okay? Piper was sitting in a chair across from them. Clairese leaned against the wall looking out the window and... the boy from the underworld was sitting in the corner fiddling with something in his hands. The door shut behind us and everyone looked in our direction.

"I trust you all know each other. If not introduce yourselves. I will go get the camp director." Chiron says as he walks into a another room. We all take a seat and chat with rest of the campers.

"Do you know that guy?" I whisper to Tavi.

"Yeah but... his not really a people person so just stay over here, k?" he says.

"But I already met him."

"Where?"

"In the underworld." Tavi's face turned a new shade of pale I've never seen before and took my hands in his. I hadn't noticed that everyone had started to listen to our conversation until they were all staring at me. Don't start this again!

"W-when did you go to the underworld?" He says.

"A couple days ago, and it really wasn't her. It was just her personified subconscious." Nico piped in with a nonchalant voice. He continued to fiddle with something in his hands. We all turned to him. Before anybody could react to his comment the door slammed open. A blur of red hair enters and quickly heads for the stairs.

"Hey how you doin' how's your mom and them?!" Jessie said to her. I think it's a her? But it doesn't stop the girl from stomping up the stairs.

"Well I found Rachel." Percy said standing and followed her. We still sat in silence. Tavi rubbed circles on my hand. I could tell he was nervous and it wasn't about my little visit to the underworld. Soon yelling erupted from upstairs. I couldn't make out what they were arguing about. Then it was over as soon as it started and the girl stomped back down the stairs and out the door. Percy chasing after her but he stopped at the door. He sat with a sigh and him and Annabeth had a silent conversation. Chiron came back into the room rubbing his temples. He told us to follow him once more and we did.

Sorry this update took so long! And that it's so short. Technology hates me sometimes. Anyway, summer vacation is starting so I should have more time to update now!
