Soulmates.
Soulmates are supposedly the single person you're meant to be with, the single person you are meant to love. Well here, one gets a tattoo as a clue to who your soulmate is when one turns 16.

A hand flopped around desperately trying to find a phone on the nightstand to silence the sound of the morning. An annoyed yet drowsy you stirred from the bed, barely able to see your guitar resting in the corner.
"No, no, nooooo," you whined, "let me sleep in! I don't wanna wake up!"
Against your wishes, you couldn't fall back asleep so there you laid, wondering what antics will occur today. A quick glance at the phone next to you and a certain message shot energy through your body.
'Happy birthday Y/N'
You completely forgot it was your birthday today. Jumping out of bed, you started looking everywhere for a tattoo. Not on your arm, not on your ankle. You began to panic thinking it might be in an awkward place. Eventually you found it. There on the right side of your torso was a yellow outline of a crown with two red and a green dot inside.
"A crown? Fuck me, please don't be royalty," you hoped aloud.
The dread of being in the public eye filled you. Of course you're a huge fucking hypocrite as you may have a slightly bigger than average following on YouTube for your music. The only difference is you're not technically in the spotlight, it's an internet persona, MASQUERADE.
Checking your phone, you started to look through the messages. Mostly happy birthday messages from the weird people you had considered friends plus Twitter notifications.
'Oi bitch, don't forget birthday lunch with your favourite person'
You can't help but smile at the text that came through. Tommy had been one of your closest friends since fifth grade. You texted back, smiling a little.
'I didn't forget small man. Freddie and Tubbo coming too?'
You didn't wait for a response and go change out of your sleepwear. Nothing fancy cause honestly you can't be bothered dressing up. Jeans, black turtle neck and your favourite flannel jacket. A quick fix of the hair too before you headed downstairs.
"Mornin' Y/N, happy birthday." You looked over and see Mum holding a small birthday present. "Something small but I hope you like it."
You smiled and gave a small hug, "Thank you, didn't have to." Unwrapping the box she gave you and saw a beautiful blue masquerade mask with black detailing. You lift it up and admired it more, the small gems on the corner of the eye, the black detail looked like a lace pattern and a black ribbon to tie it. It looked gorgeous, you held it so delicately like it was a porcelain doll.
"There's something else in the box."
You looked at the box and noticed a small necklace. Nothing fancy, a simple chain holding a dog tag with a treble clef engraved into it. You put the mask and box down and hugged Mum. "Thank you, it's beautiful."
"I know how much you like different masks and music."
You smiled and put on the necklace. "Um Tommy invited me out to lunch, just checking that's cool?"
