Awkward. Awkward is the only way to describe how you have been acting the past month. It's understandable of course, you have never really liked anyone and the person who is supposedly your soulmate talks with you at least twice a week now, whether it's necessary or not. It's fine though, you nor he have mentioned soulmates. But the icing on the cake, neither of you have said your real identities which has become a a running joke at this point almost.

Now it's the same thing happening cause nothing else is happening during this pandemic, you're working on music, the EP to be exact. You were singing the lyrics to a small bass line you made. You had your eyes closed as you got into experimenting with your vocal range for the song. Oh how that was a mistake. A light tap on your shoulder and a touch of your elbow caused you to jump. You felt your heart skip a beat in fear as you looked at the culprit.

"What the fuck Freddie?!" You yelled while firmly grasping his shirt. You started shaking him as you continued, "That was beyond creepy! You tall shit, you'll rue the day!"

Typical Freddie, laughs in your face and takes your headphones off you. "I'd like to see you try. But it's good to know you forgot I was spending the night."

"That was happening Friday, it's Thursday, no?" You ask finally letting your best friend go to check your phone.

"Friday is today," he stated with a know it all tone. "You might want to stop recording too."

You stopped the recording on your computer and rubbed your eyes feeling the strain from adjusting to the light. "I'm sorry, it's just I've been so focused on getting songs finished for the EP. Many things have been slipping my mind these few weeks."

Freddie leaned over and turned off the monitor of your PC and looked at you. "Well sounds like you need a cleanse from work. Come on, out of this room."

You rolled your eyes as you were pushed out the door. "Fine mum," you said sarcastically.

"Y/N, I'm heading out now. There's money on the table for food, if something goes wrong call me," your mum said from downstairs.

"Got it Mum, you got everything for the trip?" You asked as you both descended from the stairs.

"Yes I double checked an hour ago," Mum said with a shake of her head. "Bye sweetie, love you." She stepped outside ready to leave. "Oh one more thing, protection is in my bathroom."

You felt your face heat up as you watched her leave. "Mum what the fuck?!" You shut the door and hung your head in embarrassment.

Freddie chuckled at the scene which had just played out before him. "I see she still thinks we're soulmates."

"I can't believe she actually SAID THAT!" You announced while holding your head.

"Well we both know it's not true so let's just forget it happened." Freddie was right and you knew it. You nodded in agreement and made your way to the living room to play co-op games.

It was you and him enjoying yourselves while snacking and playing Lego games on the Xbox. It was enjoyable having a physical hangout instead of social life through an internet connection. Time progressed onwards and it was you two eating pizza for dinner.

"Did you just take the last piece of garlic bread?" Freddie asked as he stared at the empty garlic bread foil.

You looked between him and the foil with your teeth holding onto the food. "No..."

He shook his head in disbelief and took a slice of cheese pizza. "You're ridiculous. Just what would your soulmate think."

The comment made you quiet. You just chewed on the bread not looking him in the eye. " I'm gonna get a drink, you want a beer?" You asked as you stood up. Whilst you were both underage you would always drink responsibly and you would let your mum know which she didn't mind most of the time.

"Uh yeah, thanks." With that said you walked to the kitchen for the beverages. You pulled a bottle of beer and a can of premixed cola and whiskey from the fridge. You took a deep breath as you felt your tattoo start to heat up.

You put the beer down and opened your drink so you could take a big swig. "Why do I have to have soulmate..."

"Something wrong with your soulmate?" The question got you to jump. Freddie walked in with the pizza boxes and trash from before. "I condensed the leftovers into one box like you normally do."

You smiled and put the pizza in the fridge as you hear the sound of the beer opening. "Thanks Freddie, so what now?"

You leaned on the counter, feeling there burning pain running through your veins. Freddie took the same stance across from you as he slipped away at the alcohol in his hand. "Dunno, depends on what you're in the mood for. Although you ignored my soulmate question, you know."

You contemplated what to say. Do you tell Freddie everything or do you just leave it? Can you take keeping the truth from your best friend? What happend if it slips and Ranboo finds out from Freddie that me and him are soulmates?

"You okay Y/N? You with me or are you day dreaming?" Freddie asked with his hand waving in front of your eyes.

"Sorry just thought of something," you said with your eyes staring at the can in your hand. You closed your eyes quickly and looked at the taller boy. "Can you promise to keep a secret?"

"We've been friends since what? Fifth grade? I think I've been able to keep your MASQ secret pretty well. Every single secret I know is kept safe with me," Freddie said in a matter-of-fact tone.

You chuckled a little to help lighten your mood, "Yeah that's true. Um, I, I um, I know...who my soulmate, um who who my soulmate is...I think..."

Silence filled the space for a moment. The sound of bottle lightly contacting the bench and a shocked sound came from Freddie. "Are you, are you okay with how you feel towards them?"

That was a question you didn't have an answer for. "I don't know how to feel. My heart beats harder but I don't, I don't feel the spark everyone says there is when we interact. The tattoo burns but I don't feel anything than friendship with them."

Your sexuality and identity were something you never enjoyed talking about. People have called you broken or that you hadn't found the one. You didn't realise the tears forming in your eyes until Freddie was hugging you. "It's okay to cry, nothing is going change. You're still you no matter what. You know who you are, it'll be okay."

You let any of the tears that had formed, fall into Freddie's shirt. You didn't know how long you both stayed like that but it was moments like that where you questioned if you were meant to be soulmates. You wiped your red eyes and downed whatever was left in your can.

"If it makes you feel any better, tattoo burning supposedly stops once you turn 21," Freddie said giving you a side squeeze.

You tried to smile to lighten the mood. "Cool, only 4 more years of burning as I talk with Ranboo," you mumbled, not really thinking about what you said.

You felt Freddie's eyes looking at you, you looked and saw his shocked expression. "You and Ranboo are soulmates?"

You slowly nodded your head, moving from your spot to the living room. "Can we put on South Park or Rick and Morty so we can forget this?"

"Yeah of course," Freddie said from the doorway. He joined you on the couch as you chose a random season of South Park to watch.

You sat through the crude humour and laughed at the controversial topics in the show. Freddie was the same only his mind couldn't help but wonder to what you said earlier. Ranboo and you are soulmates. It made sense now, Ranboo was asking different things about MASQ so he has to know. He took a glance at your calm face, laughing at Kenny dying. He can't just spring this knowledge on you, it'd only panic and worry you, so silent he remained.
