"Is this too much? I feel it's too much," you asked, gesturing to the outfit you had put on. It was a fun button up with motifs from your favourite video game, tucked nicely into your nicest pair of jeans along with your favourite boots, a mask that fit the colour scheme and you had some extra accessories to help it feel complete.

Freddie squinted at the outfit through his screen looking at all the small details. "Maybe? Do you know what you're going to be doing, because that will help me decide. Also it is a date date, right?"

"I don't know if we confirmed it's a date date, but it's mini golf and lunch. Oh god, what if it is meant to be a date date?" You explained rambling and pacing, now feeling your heart pound harder the more you thought about it.

"Y/N, you're rambling again," Freddie said catching your attention. "For mini golf and lunch, it's a good outfit, maybe lose a couple accessories for practical reasons. Now as a 'date' outfit, maybe a little much with the accessories," he explained with appropriate air quotes on 'date', "but for a date date, I think it's appropriate."

"I think I'm gonna be sick, that's a sign I should cancel," you said, feeling the uneasiness in your stomach. You picked up your phone ready to text Ranboo.

"Y/N, Y/N, Y/N! Talk to me, talk the feeling out," Freddie screamed, stopping you, mid typing.

"My stomach feels gross, like I'm 7 and about to do a school performance," you admitted. The look Freddie gave you as it dawned on you that it was just nerves was one you knew all too well.

"Just breath, please! It's your first date, just focus on the mini golf part," Freddie said, trying to calm you down.

"I'M BANNING THE WORD DATE!" You yelled. "THIS ISN'T A DATE ANYMORE IT'S JUST MINI GOLF!"

"THAT'S WHAT I WAS SAYING!" Freddie argued. "Also not to be that person, but you should leave soon so you're not late."

You looked at the time confused and panicked. "Shit, I'm late, thanks again on fashion advice. I'll text you later!" You hung up and grabbed your bag before bolting out the house.

You spent the time on your trip to the meet up spot panicking and trying to get over the nerves. You had prepared a wrap to help compress your tattoo in hopes it would ease the burning. You also added on some fingerless gloves to reduce the direct contact but not to make it obvious that you were trying to avoid all contact.

Thoughts of everyway this could go wrong plagued your mind. You were so caught up worrying, fidgeting with your necklace subconsciously, you didn't take notice of the burning sensation you were experiencing.

"Hey, nice outfit," Ranboo said, now in front of you.

You couldn't tell if you were still breathing. You forced your eyes to lose focus to help you just get past the formalities. "Oh, thanks. Not bad fashion choice yourself," you answered, regretting the choice of words since your hadn't even looked at his outfit.

"Thanks, although you I feel a little underdressed," they chuckled. They were in something more casual. "Well, um, should we get going?"

"Oh yeah, definitely. I hear that the mini golf place gets super busy," you told them, walking beside them to the place.

To say the walk was awkward was an understatement, there was practically a wall between you two, until you tried to break it of course. "So uh, you mini golf often?" You asked, not really sure what topic to talk about. You also had to make sure you didn't say anything that would mess up the double identity.

"Oh, a few times, although I will warn you, I may be a little competitive," he admitted.

"I don't think I know a single person who isn't," you admitted in a reassuring tone. "Why not make it fun with a little wager, a bet of sorts"

"Oh? Depends on what the wager is?" Ranboo questioned, intrigued with your proposal.

"Something simple, like loser pays for lunch? Perhaps even the rest of the da-y, uh day, rest of the day," you fumbled out, quickly catching yourself from saying the word 'date'.

"Interesting..." They said thinking about it, "or how about this, I will pay for everything the rest of the date if I lose, but if I win, I get to leak a snippet for a song of your's."

You were shocked at the unfair stakes Ranboo had proposed, also because he confirmed this was a date, but that was insignificant right now. "Now I feel like that isn't exactly a fair trade off."

"Okay, how about loser has to sing the snippet and is posted on the winners twitter?" He suggested.

"So no matter what I leak a snippet," you asked for confirmation, thinking that it was a stupid way to introduce new music.

"Yes but it'll be done by someone with an angelic voice,or by you," they teased as you finally stood outside of the place. "Do we have a deal?"

You looked at their extended hand debating on whether it was a reasonable deal. "Fuck it, sure." You shook their hand, feeling heat trying to singe your fingertips.

The two of you took the competition seriously, playfully talking shit and attempting to sabotage each other. "Easy, you might get a hole-in-one with that much lining up," you joked as you watched your soulmate on the ground lining up the shot with his club.

He moved the club slightly trying to get it perfect, "It's all about the science, the trajectory, the NUMBERS!" You chuckled and looked around, you squinted at a familiar blond and brunett a few holes away. "DAMNIT!"

The yell from the person next to you made you jump. You looked at their ball right on the rim of the hole, so close to falling in but not. "Awwww unfortunate buddy, after you did the math and everything," you commented, patting Ranboo on the back.

"I was so close..."

"Well now I can take my shot at least," you joked. "Also call me crazy, but I think I saw Tommy and Toby also here."

"Wait what? You're joking right?" They asked looking around.

You took the shot, not getting anywhere close to the hole. "Can you mess up the next shot? The world would love to hear you sing."

The chuckle from them made your already burning tattoo feel like you were going to explode. "The world isn't ready for popstar Ranboo."

"Just end this already, we both know I lost." You watched as the golf ball goes in, resulting in Ranboo just beating you. "You cheated on the 7th hole, just be aware of that."

"Awwww don't be sad," he teased, using his club to tilt your chin up. "You sabotaged me on the 13th one."

You felt a blush rise in your cheeks. "Let's not get into the nitty gritty of it," you said, pointing your club at them. "Let's get going quickly, I don't want Tommy and Toby to follow us to lunch."

With a nod from Ranboo, you both returned the equipment and left. You wondered why the duo was there, was it coincidence? Perhaps they were spying on you both? But if they were spying on you, how'd they know where to look, did Ranboo tell them?

A/N: Look an update! Apologies for the wait, kinda forgot my password so I couldn't exactly write and publish it. Fingers crossed next chapter comes out next month but that's if I remember to do these kind of things
