Part VIII
~Naruto~
I just love Fridays.
There's nothing that could happen that could ruin my mood on a Friday. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my good teachers and my awesome friends, but it's a relief to not try to understand something inexplicable for twenty minutes, then give up and nap for twenty minutes more multiple times a day.
It's a warm day and the light breeze fills my lungs as I step out of the confining building and into the sunlight. I squint as my eyes adjust into the light. I make out Hinata in the crowd and smile. Her indigo hair is luminescent in the sun's rays. I sneak behind her and slip my arms around her waist and bring her close to me.
I love having her close to me.
Her hair smells like fresh apples. My head sinks into her shoulder. She giggles happily. I swear she has the cutest giggle. "Hey, Hinata," I say smoothly.
"H-hi!" She says. She still gets tongue-tied around me, but I bask in the closeness of her body for a moment. I close my eyes. This is what true happiness feels like.
She turns around and places her arms around my shoulders. I back away just enough so my hands are still resting at her waist but I can see her beautiful face. Her cheeks are a cute pink while the rest of her looks like a perfectly crafted glass doll. She's positively indescribable, for words could never quite depict her beauty.
"You're so beautiful," I try anyway, speaking softly. My words are just for her.
"And you're so handsome," she says back, blushing. My cheeks flame red at her compliment. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met.
I kiss her light and quickly, just enough so my lips can feel her soft supple pair. Warmth spreads over me and I smile at her. I lean in so only our foreheads are touching and move closer to her. We stay just like that, neither one of us wanting to break the moment.
I can't believe she's mine.
As I walk her home, we talk about our day. Hinata tells me that Ino was doing better today. It's good to hear, because I really was worried about Ino. Her and I were never really too close, but it's hard to see anyone that heartbroken.
When we reach her house we pause for a moment. Then, without a word, I move in and kiss her desperately. I lean over, dipping her down and holding her up with my arms. She tastes of strawberry Chapstick. I never knew how good artificially flavored lip wax tasted until I tasted it on Hinata. Just everything about her and every moment we spend together is absolute perfection.
When I release her, we remain locked in each others gaze. Her eyes are one of her best featured. They look like silk and are the color of lavender. They're big and beautiful and are lined fully with a million thick indigo lashes. I feel as though I could dive in and swim around in Hinata's eyes forever.
"Have a good evening, Hinata," I say sincerely, not breaking the gaze or moving an inch.
"I'll call you tonight," she promises, but keeps the same even relaxed tone as I used and doesn't dare look away from my eyes.
After a while of standing in silence and looking into one another, Hinata reaches into her back pocket and pulls out her house keys. "Bye, Naruto," she says, and raises herself on her toes just enough so her can kiss me softly. Goosebumps take over my flesh.
As she turns to unlock the door, I remain there. "Goodbye, Hinata," I say, admiring her long midnight blue hair.
She pauses a moment as she opens the door. She stands in the crack of it, thinking. "Actually," she says. "My parents aren't home. The middle school doesn't get out for another hour, so Hanabi won't be home for a while either. I'm sure it's okay if you would like to stay a while. I mean just half an hour or forty-five minute or so." She turns back and looks at me. "Would you like to?"
