" If I wasn't a hero I'd burn that bird brain. He can't just say things like that." You thought as you were flying back to your agency. Patrol was finally over with for today. Nothing more exciting happened that day small petty crimes and cats in trees. Landing on the roof of your building you decide to sit on the edge of the roof to relax a bit and listen to some music. Looking out to the city and the light blue sky with a few puffy clouds. " why does he seem to piss me off so easily. Umi was right though, he is really good looking." You sigh out loud thinking to yourself and then you remember " oh yeah I should let him know I got us that meeting." (Earlier in the day) ~y/n~ hey it's phonies can we meet?.....2hrs later....... ~giran~ are you going to arrest another one of my clients? ~y/n~ No, this is something different entirely. I've got a proposition for you. ~giran~ I'm intrigued but my time isn't free ~y/n~ how much? ~giran~ 500,000 yen(4500usd) ~y/n~ Done, care if I bring a friend as well? ~giran~ no funny business? ~y/n~ no funny business ~giran~ Fine, but they pay as well ~y/n~ not an issue. (Back to present) Sitting on the roofs edge you start to type a message to hawks ~y/n~ hey, I got us that meeting. You free to  discuss everything about it. ~redbird~ yeah, where you at? ~y/n~ on the roof of my agency ~redbird~ be there in 5 "five mins damn I didn't think he was that close to me." You thought as you continued to listen to your music and space out. After a few minutes passed you felt wind hitting your wings and back. Letting you know hawks had made it but didn't turn around. Feeling a tap on your shoulder finally you tilt your head up and notice hawks standing very close behind you looking down at you on the edge of the building. Looking back out towards the city and tapping the edge next to you inviting him to sit next to you and trying to conceal the slight blush on your face. Opening your phone to turn your music off and place your headphones around your neck. "So how was your day?" You asked to break the silence between the two of you. " boring for the most part. Well besides this morning that is" he said giving you a huge smirk. Hitting him in the arm " ouch you almost knocked me off the roof" he said " oh whatever, I barely touched you plus you can fly" as you both looked at each other and just started laughing about it. After the laughing fit hawks got more serious " so you said you got us a meeting?" " Yeah Monday at 3am at a bar" you say still unsure of how the two of you are going to pull this off. " who are we meeting?" "His name is Giran, he was someone I worked with a few years ago to catch some drug dealers before I had my agency." " do you think he can get us in touch with the league thou" "honestly, I'm not sure but, he's definitely a start to get our feet into the underground. He knows alot of people some not the greatest." You say knowing this is possible the only way in to the league from your side at least. " Well, then I guess that works for me It's a start" he says " there's one other thing though." "What's that?" "It's going to cost to talk to him or else he won't give us anything" "how much?" " 500,000 yen for both of us" you say still wondering how your going to come up with the money. " so  1 mil yen.... no problem I've got it" Hawks says "Wait...WHAT?" You say as you look over at him confused. "I'll cover it since you were able to get us a meeting in less than 24hrs. The hpc will get us the money." Hawks says giving you his smirk of his making you slightly blush. "He's such a flirt" you thought looking back out at the growing dark sky. " Hey, when did that happen?" He asks pointing at your now bandged arm. Thanks to Yamato when you came back from your trip to the convenient store for a few of your favorite drinks. (Earlier that day) "let me just bandage it and clean it up before you go back out" Yamato says to you. "Fine, but hurry up I still have patrol to get back to." As Yamato started to go get the first aid kit and soon as you said fine. With him back and cleaning your wound while you sit on his desk. Once all cleaned up and now wrapped up to keep it clean. "Thank you Yamato, I don't know what I'd do without you." You say giving him a genuine smile "probably die from an infection knowing you" "your right, alright back to work" (Back to the rooftop with hawks) " oh, that happened this morning at the robbery, by the way your jacket isn't blade proof" you say " I'm sorry I can't have everything in one jacket" he says giving you a small amount of sass. "Well you should" giggling a little. " Sorry I got your jacket all cut up" you say quietly. " it's all good, plus you didn't get hurt to bad which is a good thing. It's now something I can remember from you" Hawks says throwing you off from his statement. "Unless you want to keep it" he says making you wondering what he's trying to get at or trying to do. "I could just get into his mind and figure it out but that's wrong. How the hell did my mother not become a villain." "Ummm I don't know it's in my office if you want it back" you say as you decide to get up off the ledge and start walking towards the door. "Where are you going?" Hawks yells towards you "In I still have paperwork I've got to finish" you yell back while motioning for hin to follow. Once both of you were inside the floor was quiet besides a small "hello" coming from the kitchen. "Just me Yamato, Why don't you head home for the night." You say as he peeks he's head around the corner to look at you. He eyes go wide as he also see's hawks standing slightly behind you. "Ye..yeah, tha..thanks ms.L/n" he says nervously grabbing his things fast and heading straight to the elevator. "Good night Ms.L/n" " what did I tell you about calling me that" you slightly yell at him as he got onto the elevator. "What was that all about. He's odd sometimes." You thought as you started to walk towards your office. " was that your assistant or something?" Hawks asked already knowing the answer. "Yes, that's Yamato. He's not normally like that but he's very good at his job and a very caring person. I couldn't do this job without him." You say with a smile on your face. As you open the door to your office stepping in. Your office wasn't anything special to the right of the door was a large wooden desk and a black office chair. On your desk was a laptop in the center of the desk. To the right is a pic of you and umi at the beach last year taken by a tourist. Next to it was your pencil holder shaped like an owl. On the left side of your laptop was another picture of when you won the sports festival in your third yr. The metal you still had placed around the frame of the picture and the metal itself sitting on your desk infront of the picture. You also had an empty vase on your desk from the flowers umi sent you a while back. She normally sends you flowers about every other month but she hasn't in a while. You don't blame her though you haven't talked to her since the other day in a few months from being busy. In front of your desk and to the left of the door to your office was a black couch and a flat screen TV mounted to the wall. In front of the couch you have a glass top coffee table with a few magazines and drink coasters neatly on the table. The couch wasn't completely bare. It had two blue pillows on each corner and a sherpa blanket laid on the back of the couch. Everything looking organized and in its rightful place but the thing is. This is a rare occasion which means Yamato must have came in after you left the last time and cleaned up your office for you."I should really give him a raise" you thought to yourself. Walking over to your desk and pulling out your chair to sit down. There was hawks jacket neatly folded. Grabbing the jacket "here's your jacket back" holding the jacket out to hawks not far behind you."Sorry for put a hole in it" you say again apologetically. "Would you stop apologizing, it's just a jacket" Hawks said giving a small chuckle and a smirk. "And who said I wanted it back"(😏) he stated staring into your big e/c eyes. Making you blush and turn around to place the jacket on the back of your chair. "Well if you ever want it back it'll be right here if you change your mind." As you sit down at you desk and open your laptop. "Ughhh I don't feel like doing this"you say outloud but under your breath." Did you say something?" Hawks asks " huh, oh no im just tired and don't want todo this right now" you say pointing down to the paperwork on your desk. Sitting in your chair with your head in the other hand with your elbow resting on the desk holding up your head. "Do you have to do it today?" He asks "no, not really unless I want to be here until after midnight on friday" you say with agony in your voice from past long nights in the office. "Well then get to it  so you can get home and rest" he says while laying down on your couch in your office. " Hey can I turn the TV on?" "Sure, I don't mind the background noise, sometimes helps me concentrate." You say staring at the paperwork and starting it. After the TV was on for only a few minutes you hear a reporter say "so are those two dating" asks one of the reporter's to another "we aren't 100% sure if hawks and blue Phoenix are dating but, why else would she have been wearing his jacket." The other reporter says pointing at a so called fact. "I changed my mind can you turn that off" you say to Hawks starting to get aggregated by the allegations and rumors from the reporter's. "Ever since this morning the #57 hero blue Phoenix has gained in popularity and our research on the hero she's now pushed passed the #30 hero spot in the popularity polls. Leaving her now in the #30 spot in the top 50 pro-heros for this yr so far." The reporter states "#30 what the fuck" you thought to yourself and before you could think more "Glad I didn't turn it off now." Hawks says looking over the back of the couch at you with a seemingly anger/confused face. "I don't know why this is happening I was happy where I was ranking in the polls, Didn't I?" Turning the TV off and walking up to you infront of your desk." You don't look happy to hear about the polls. I thought something like that would be good news for you." He says with a concerned look on his face. "I should be happy about this but why am I so angry about it then" you thought slightly ignoring hawks as you get up from your desk and start heading out of the office " I need some air" back on the roof the cool air hits your face as you let out a big sigh and take a deep breath filling your lungs. Walking over to the edge of the building to get more of the chilly air.you spread your wings fully for the air to hit you from every angle and giving you a small shiver from doing so. Behind you was hawks who followed you onto the roof but giving you room and some quiet to not disturb you. Seeing you standing on the edge of the building "wow, I've never seen anyone as beautiful as her in my life." He thought to himself but, what he didn't know when your emotions start to take over it makes it hard for you to control your quirks. Meaning you just heard him making you slightly blush and lose your balance on the edge of the building. Hawks seeing you lose your balance and start to fall his instincts kick in even though you have wings to." Stupid,stupid,stupid why did I have to hear him say that. I can't catch a damn break." Before you completely fall off the roof you feel a hand grab your wrist stopping you from falling "I've got you" Hawks says as he pulls you back onto the roof and off of the ledge of the building. "Are you ok?" He asks "no, I'm not ok. I don't understand why all this is happening all of the sudden. Now I can't go back to the way thing were. I liked my quiet life and ever since I meet you everything has changed. I don't like change." You said tears streaming down your face and not realizing you yelled the last part. You also knew things weren't looking good for you if you couldn't get ahold of your emotions as you kept crying and stressing yourself out from everything that's happened in the last 24hrs. "Why is this happening? I can't blame him for all of this. It's not his fault" you thought as flames started to grow around you getting hotter and hotter as you keep thinking about everything and getting overwhelmed by your own thoughts. Hawks just staring at you unsure what's going on and how to help you but, unable to get close to you."I wish I knew how to help her. If only I could get closer" he thought but couldn't due to the growing blue flames ingulfing you. "This isn't good, this isn't good. I need to calm down. 37, 37 more times is all I have and after that I'll be free from this world." You thought frantically as your flames grow even more growing so hot to the point you were about to go into Phoenix state. Standing there surrounded by your blue flames wings fully expanded you truly look like your hero name a blue Phoenix. So beautiful but also deadly if touched by anyone. "Y/N" Hawks Yelling out your name trying to get you to snap out of it and get you out of your own head. "Damn it, I can't do anything from here how can I help her" you hearing his thoughts again but unable to stop thinking about all the things that have happened and how things are forever changed. " y/n, snap out of it!" Hawks yells again your flames start to flicker from finally hearing his calls. For only the second time in your life you were able to get ahold of your emotions and Quirk to calm yourself down. As you snap yourself out of your intuitive thoughts your flames start to go down and you lower your wings as well. The last time someone was able to snap you out of your head and stop Phoenix state was touya a long time ago when you both were very young and before he passed away. Since he is no longer around no ones ever been able to get close enough to you physically or emotionally to stop it not even umi. "Hey are you ok?" Hawks asks standing closer to you now but still unable to touch you as you were still to hot to touch. " Yeah, I'm good. I'm guessing you want an explanation as to what you just witnessed." You say looking down at your feet in embarrassment. " I'm curious yes but, if you don't want to talk about it right now that's fine to." He said walking closer and gently placing his hand on your should. You were still warm to the touch but no longer hot enough to burn him. Looking up from the feeling of his hand on your shoulder you look straight into his golden eyes thinking "I could stare at those eyes forever" as you continue to look at him "Thank you" you say kind of quietly and lower your head from him. " it's all good, that's what partners are for right." He said taking his hand from your shoulder to place both hands behind his head to try and lighten the mood."No, really thank you. You saved me just now." You say in a more serious tone to your voice now. The small smile hawks had on his face fading as he listens to you. "I was only a few seconds away from going into Phoenix state. You calling out to me snapped me out of it and back to reality. Only one other person has ever been able to do that in my life" you say trying not to cry again. "How was he able to do that, and why him" you thought to yourself remember what happened that day when he saved you. " Hey do you want to go for a quick fly with me?" Hawks asked, you nod you head as a response to yes you would. Both now standing on the edge of the building and looking out at the night sky as you both take off into the quiet night.
