FIVE MONTHS LATER
Jacob didn’t think he would be California any time soon but he saw that he was wrong. He thought that the last time he was here he had sealed the deal but he was apparently not done yet since the new CEO of Kings enterprises wanted to go through and discuss the contract all over again because she saw some loopholes in the contract that could affect both companies pretty bad. As Jacob drove the streets of his home so many memories flowed through him like they always did when he was driving through them.
FLASHBACK (12 years ago)
“Am not falling for your tricks this time. No matter how hard you try am not going to chase you through these streets.” Jacob said to Valentine as she was running away with his drink. “Come one why are you always a kill joy or maybe you’re afraid that you won’t catch me if I start running. OMG the almighty Jacob is afraid of chasing a girl because he knows he can’t catch her.” Valentine replied as she laughed at him. As Valentine was busy laughing Jacob was closing up to her and by the time she realized that he was close enough to get his cup back so she moved inches back and he forward that was how it went till she tripped on a stone and as she was about to fall Jacob reached out for her and the both ended up on falling with her on the ground and him on top he looked into her beautiful ocean blue eyes while she was busy laughing he noticed that every time she laughed her eyes would glow more than usual she looked really good when she laughed it seemed that she looked a little bit younger than her usual self. He stared at her for a very long time and by the time she sobered from her laughing she noticed that he was staring at her as if he was looking for something on her face or maybe he could see right through her and see her soul. She tried to stand up but since she was beneath him she was stuck down. She looked down and then she looked into his grey eyes and they locked stares. His face was just inches away from hers and their lips weren’t any further apart she dropped her eyes and bit her lower lip he looked down and saw what she had done he removed her lip from between her teeth and kissed her.
Jacob reached home to get ready for the meeting he had come for so he could go back to New York. As he entered the house he heard someone screaming and it wasn’t long when he saw his younger sister with wide arms waiting to be hugged. How much he had missed his sister although she annoyed the hell out of him but he loved her neither the less but he will never tell her that or he will never live it through. He gave his sister a hug and explained he needed to get ready for work. Jacob went straight to his room to get ready for his meeting. He dressed into a black tee and some faded jeans and some snickers to go with the outfit. If there was a person who hated formal wear, then he was one of them and it was really rare to see him in a tux or any decent kind of dressing even when he went to work he would wear something that would portray relaxed, young, simple but screamed boss. Anyways this meeting wasn’t really that important since it was just going through documents so there was no use in wearing any formal clothes. After he was done getting ready he found himself in the kitchen getting himself something to drink. As he was turning from the fridge he saw his mum standing in the door way looking at him. At first he was startled but after a few minutes he gained himself back and gave his mum one of his so rare smiles. He hugged his mum for some time and then they talked for some time till he excused himself to go to his meeting before he was late.
Jacob found himself in an elevator after about an hour drive and a ten minute at the reception. Anyways he didn’t care about any of that all he wanted was to be done with spend the weekend with his family and then he would be on his private jet heading back to New York on Monday. As Jacob was approaching the CEO’s door he could hear a lady talking maybe that was the new CEO and maybe she was on the phone or maybe talking to one of the staff. He stood by the door waiting for her to finish her call and then he knocked on the door. He heard a faint come in he went without any second thoughts anyways he found the lady looking at the city through the gigantic window that was in her office. He cleared his throat to get her attention anyways she didn’t even bother she just told him to seat on her office couch. How rude he thought he doesn’t know why his father couldn’t attend the meeting alone since he was the one who was originally supposed to attend the meeting but then he had called claiming he couldn’t make it to the meeting coz he was held up with another the same day so there he was waiting for the lady to turn around just so they could get this meeting over with. But oddly when she spoke to greet him he felt like he knew that voice. As the lady turned to look at him he instantly recognized her. Anyways how would he forget those green eyes that he saw every single day for the past three years. He was truly surprised and so was she but none of them spoke for a long while until Jacob recovered from the shock as well as the surprise and asked “What the hell Rose?”
