CHAPTER IV - WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM?

[The Next Day - Konohagakure Shopping Strip - Yamanaka Flowers]

*Door Bell Ring*

"Hello! Welcome to Yamanaka Flowers, how can I... Naruto?" Ino looked confused as she watched the orange jumpsuit hyper ninja walk through the door, looking around at the flowers before walking over to the counter.

"Hey, Ino." Naruto greeted her in his calm voice, clearly not in the mood to delay what he was trying to do.

"What are you doing here? Getting some flowers for Forehead?" Ino asked with a raised eyebrow and a smirk on her face.

"I need some White Lilies." Naruto said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet.

"White Lilies? Sakura doesn't like white lilies. Are you asking to get flattened by her?" Ino asked with a light chuckle.

"They aren't for Sakura, I'm getting them for Hinata-chan." Naruto said as he looked into Ino's Teal Eyes, which were now slightly widened.

'Sakura? Just Sakura? No Sakura-chan? And he's getting flowers for Hinata? How did he know that White Lilies were Hinata's Favorite Flower?' Ino thought before she opened her mouth to speak, "Yeah, we have white lilies, how many do you want?" Ino asked Naruto.

"I'll take five and I'll also pay for a vase for the flowers to go in." Naruto said. Ino looked at him with a curious expression as she rung him up, told him the price, and watched as he counted out the cash before handing it to her; she counted it again, placed it in the register, and handed Naruto his change before walking in the back and returning a moment later with the vase of white lilies that she placed on the counter.

"Naruto, is everything alright?" Ino asked the Jinchuuriki as he took the vase of flowers from the counter.

"Why?" Naruto asked as he looked into Ino's eyes.

"You seem different. Is something bothering you?" Ino asked him again.

"Hinata-chan's in the hospital - she got injured protecting me and I have to protect her." Naruto walked out of the store and walked down the street with the flowers in his hand.

'He must think it's his fault that Hinata-chan got injured. Poor Naruto.' Ino thought before she began walking back to the back of the store to do inventory.

[Streets Of Konohagakure]

Naruto walked down the streets with the vase of flowers secured in his grasp, looking down at the petals - the white creamy color reminded him of Hinata's Fair Skin, making him smile before he looked ahead when he heard someone call him ahead, he frowned when he saw that it was the rest of his team.

'Great. More distractions.' Naruto thought as he cleared his voice, "Is there something I can help you with?" Naruto asked as Sakura marched over to him with an angry glare on her face.

"What the hell was wrong with you?! You left us in the temple and ran off to the village alone! Do you have any idea how long it took us to get back here alone?!" Sakura yelled before looking at the flowers in his hands, "What's with the flowers?" She asked.

"I ran here alone because Hinata-chan go hurt and if I waited on you then she would have died and I told you that I wasn't going to lose her." Naruto said as he glared into Sakura's eyes, making her take a step back, "Now, what the hell do you want? I need to get back to Hinata-chan." Naruto said.

"You're bringing her flowers? That's a waste of time, Baka." Sasuke said as he slid his hands into his pockets.

"No, this conversation is a waste of my time while I could be taking care of Hinata-chan." Naruto glared at him before walking around Sakura to continue on his path but Sakura placed her hand on his shoulder, making him glare at her over his shoulder, making her remove her hand and take a step back; he continued to glare at her for a while before he turned and walked down the path.

"What the hell is wrong with him?" Sasuke asked as he watched Naruto walk down the street with the flowers in his hands

"I don't know." Sakura said as she watched Naruto disappear down the path.

[Konohagakure Hospital - Third Floor - Room 305 - Hinata Hyuga's Room]

The door of the room opened and Naruto walked in before closing the door behind him and walking deeper into the room before he stopped in the middle of the room to gaze upon the figure lying in the bed. Hinata was still and motionless but her chest was slowly rising and sinking with her breathing through the mask. She was tucked under the blanket except for one arm that was connected to a UV Line that hung from a long metal pole and connected to the bag. Hinata's arms and chest were covered in bandages; Naruto looked at her rising and sinking chest with a smile as he placed the flowers on her nightstand and took a seat in the chair beside her bed.

"Hey, Hinata-chan. Sorry, I was late, I ran into Sakura and Sasuke, they wanted to yell at me for leaving them in the temple to save you." He looked at the ground before looking back at her sleeping face, "I'm sorry that I never saw your love for me before now, Hinata-chan, I was so focused on Sakura and getting better than Sasuke that I never realized that you were the one that truly loved me and wanted to be there for me. But all that is going to change, My White Lily." Naruto reached out and placed his fingers on the open palm of Hinata's hand connected to the UV with a smile.

"When you wake up, I'll treat you like the queen that you are. I'll always be there for you and I'll protect you with everything in me to make sure that you never have to risk yourself like this for anyone else, ever again. I'll make sure that you are safe and no one will hurt you again, just like no one will take you away from me." He stood up and leaned over to Hinata's face before placing a gentle kiss on Hinata's Forehead before standing up straight then sitting back down.

"I'll keep you safe, My Precious Heiress."
