A Fight For Power

1. Arrival

Tom sat silently while his knights talked about their summer vacations. For some reason Malfoy still hadn't arrived, which was strange given that he, normally, was always one of the first to.

As if he heard Tom's thoughts, Malfoy entered the compartment.

"Sorry I'm late but I saw this girl and-"

"Got a crush, Malfoy?" said Lestrange with a smirk.

"No" Malfoy rolled his eyes " There's a new girl at Hogwarts, not a first year, she looks like our age" with that everyone turned to Tom.

A new girl could be a problem, thought Tom, but it probably won't matter much.

"Are you sure? Maybe it's just some girl you have never seen." Mulciber looked unconvinced with what Abraxas was saying, and Tom couldn't blame him. All of the other boys also seemed to be uncertain about it.

"What did she look like?" It couldn't be who he thought it was, could it?

Malfoy took the seat in front of him before speaking

"She has long wavy almost white hair, pale skin and green eyes, but not just normal green eyes, they are the color of the-"

"The color of the killing curse..." Tom whispered earnin questioning looks from his knights.

Two weeks ago

Tom was shopping in Diagon alley, and for some reason he felt uneasy.

It was like someone was watching him, he looked around but no one was there. He probably was just imagining things but feeling that you are being watched while you are at knockturn alley, doing things that are not exactly legal, is not a great feeling.

While he was leaving Borgin and Burkes he spotted the person watching him, he couldn't see them very well as they were hidden in a dark alley .

He carefully went into it, almost complete darkness surrounding him.

The figure was now in front of him, he could now see that it was a girl, she had what seemed a dark green robe, but he couldn't see much more due to the darkness, she also seemed to have her eyes closed, weird.

He heard a somehow girly chuckle

"Now, now, there is no need to be mean, I can open them for you, if you want" he was very much confused why she had them close in the first place, or how she had known what he was thinking of, his occlumency was at 100%, but before he could say anything, she open her eyes.

He took a step back.

Her eyes were a vivid green glowing with power, he could feel her magic, it was intoxicating, it reach out to him, not even doing anything just there, but still it was just like ice, he couldn't stop the shiver that ran through his spine, the resemble of her magic to the feeling of a dementor was to much to ignore.

"So you're Tom Riddle. You have to be careful" she said as the shadows started to move around her, her silhouette disappearing into them making only her eyes visible "Don't get too comfortable where you are now. You are walking into a pit of sleeping snakes, you have already woken some of them up, and if you continue you will end up getting bitten." and after that she disappeared into the shadows.

She had vanished.

First this encounter had confused him

How did she know him? Why had she followed him? How had she done it without getting caught? Who is she? How was she so powerful?

But then he understood, it was a warning. And not a vane one just to scare him off, her arrival at the school had proven as much.

"I saw her at diagon alley," he said being as vain as he could "keep an eye on her she is trouble"
