10. Everything's Bigger in Texas

Few days later...

I wake up and get ready like the usual day. I drive to Mr. Skeppy's house and he gets in the car. He says, "Bad, we need to get to the office quickly." I nod, "Yes sir, may I ask why?" He sighs, "Just get there." I kind of speed to Incite and we rush inside.

He goes inside his office slamming the door behind him. I sit at my desk, waiting for some type of clarity. After thirty minutes he comes out of his office and stares at me. He says, "Book me a flight for Austin, Texas."

"May I ask why sir?" I ask. He crosses his arms, "The supermarket project went awry just before the opening. I have to go fix it myself, clearly." I say, "Alright sir, are you flying tonight?" He nods, "Yes tonight, and it's for two nights so also book a hotel."

I nod, "Alright, I'll get a plane ticket to Austin tonight for one." He says, "Yes that's i-" He pauses between speaking and he uncrosses his arms. He puts his hands on my desk, "And Bad, you're coming along. So get tickets for two."

My eyes widened, "I-I'm coming too?" He nods, "Yes, I need my assistant there." I smile nervously, "Okay sir." He goes back to his office and I buy two tickets for us at 7:30pm. Though, I have to call my mom to handle Lucy.

Mom ^w^

Mom: Hello?

Bad: Hey mom, I have something to ask for.

Mom: Hi Bad. Yeah sure, what is it?

Bad: I have to take an urgent work trip for two nights. I'm flying tonight. So while I'm gone, can you watch Lucy? Just stay over at my house for two days with her.

Mom: Of course no problem for me. Why the sudden trip though?

Bad: Something happened at work so now my boss and I have to go to Texas. It won't be too long, just two days like I said.

Mom: Yeah, yeah, don't worry Bad. I'll take good care of Lucy!

Bad: Thanks mom, I'll find a way to repay you.

Mom: There's no need for that son, I love Lucy anyway.

Bad: Alright thanks mom, i'll talk to you later.

Mom: Yes, bye Bad!

Bad: Bye!

I end the call and get to work: planning the trip, booking a hotel, etc. But my phone starts buzzing again. I look at it to see Mr. Soot calling me, so I pick up.

President Soot

Mr. Soot: Hi Bad, hope you're having a good day.

Bad: Hi Mr. Soot, my day is good so far thanks. How is yours?

Mr. Soot: It could be better if it wasn't for this situation in Austin. I'm coming with you and Skeppy so book a hotel and plane ticket for me as well.

Bad: Yes sir I'll do that immediately.

Mr. Soot: Thanks Bad, have a good day and see you tonight.

Bad: Of course sir, have a good day.

He closes the phone and I book for Mr. Soot as well. I go into Mr. Skeppy's office and say, "The plane tickets and hotel is booked for you, Mr. Soot, and I." "Mr Soot?" he repeats. I nod, "Yes..." He looks at me, "Is he coming?" I nod, "He called me and told me to book for him as well." Mr. Skeppy sighs, "I guess because he is the president after all. Ok, that's fine." I say, "Is it alright for me to go back to my home sometime during the day to get my stuff prepared?" He nods, "Yes, but I also need to grab my things. So we can leave at 12:30." I nod, "Yes sir." He goes back to his work and I leave his office.
