Ranboo wakes up for the 5th time this morning, this time it was his dog hopping on his bed. Why am I so sensitive? Why I wake up every movement I hear? And why am I hearing my neighbor snoring?
This time he doesn't try to go back to sleep. It's 4:47 is not worth the try, he pets his dog a bit. Feeling more anxious than the usual, he's sweating a lot and his muscles hurt a bit. Wait- he starts to feel his muscles- they got bigger. Is that puberty? But I thought- can that be a side effect of the bite? Should I go to the hospital? - He stops mid-thinking when he hears a door opening and light steps. He recognizes is probably mom, she has some light steps thanks to ballet. He follows the steps trying to not scare her.
She's at the kitchen, taking the things to prepare breakfast, she does it all not making any noise to not wake anyone up. She's delicate, every step, every movement. He then decide to go back to his room and get a few minutes of sleep.
He wakes up again with some knocks on his door. The room is brighter so he looks at the time, 7:02, god he's late. He rushes to his bathroom to get ready.
— Ranboo, son are you alright? Can I come in? — The lady says, it's mother. She is not as delicate as mom, in fact her steps are heavier, she wasn't a ballerina. — Ranboo I'm sorry, but you're very late. Are you alright? — She takes her hand to his forehead — I think you have a fever.
— Have I? Well I do feel a bit sick.
— Stay home today, you're late anyways. I need to go now but if you feel any worse
call me immediately ok?— Ok, I'll get better mother.
— Oh, I know that, sweetie — She kisses his cheek and goes.
He lays on his bed, feeling tired for not having much sleep. But he wakes up again as he hears his mom's light steps and delicate knocks on the door.
— Son? Sorry — she comes in — Your mother said you weren't very well so I decided to take this day to take care of you. — She sits at the end of his bed.
— Don't worry mom, I'll be fine. You can go to work, it's just a fever.
— Then I'll work only in the afternoon, I'm staying all morning with you. — she brushes her delicate hands on his hair.
He likes how his mothers are the opposite of each other, but also so similar. Mom is a white lady with the hair so blonde that is almost white and greyish eyes. She was a ballerina and was always very delicate. Mother had a dark skin and dark curly hair, her eyes were black and you could see perfectly your reflection through them, she was the fun one, the one that would watch you discover that falling off a tree hurts, but also helps you whenever you need. The thing they had in common, love, they loved each other and Ranboo so much. He thought he'd never lie to them.
As the afternoon arrives, mom goes back to his room. Ranboo is feeling better, so she'd go to work. She kissed his forehead and left an "I love you, get better soon" note on the side of his bed.
He decided that it was time to figure out what was happening, why he could hear the neighbor's dog drinking water. And how the hell he got that fly that was on his notes. His notes. Did he noted anything useful? He ran through his notes trying to find anything useful. A lot about the mutant spiders but nothing about the bite, he's frustrated, he tries to let down his notes but it's... stuck? It's glued on his hand.He tries to let it go pushing it, stepping on it but hell decided no man, you're stuck, so he got his left feet glued too he tried to let it go but fell. Could this get any worse? He could hear his heartbeat growing faster, he needs to calm down that's what mom says. He takes a deep breath, then another, then another one. When he opens up his eyes he's free. The note is on the ground and no signs of glue on it.
He needs to clear his mind. He needs air. He runs up the stairs and watches everything, the people walking down the street, two dogs meeting and sniffing each other, that one street dog that he named Hot dog stealing a hot dog. These little things makes him happy and remind him of home. He gets all anxious again when he hears something approaching him, he turns quickly and accidentally shoots the thing. He run up to this thing, a pigeon, covered in... web? He shot a pigeon with web? What in hell it's happening? It's like he's a spider now.
After removing the strong strings of web off the bird and releasing it he comes back to watch the streets again. What was that? he tries to shoot web again, he fails. He tries again and fails. He takes a deep breath, focusing on shooting and he shoots, he shot a string onto the front building, the string is still connected to him. He pulls it testing the resistance, it can take his weight, maybe more.
He shoots again, but this time he's going to hang on the web and cross to the other building. He jumps. And swings in the web, he shoots again and again basically flying in those webs. He feels weirdly alive. What else he could do with that? He stops thinking about all the possibilities.
He realizes he stopped on top of a bridge. The view is wonderful, he could see the whole city in there. He starts to feel anxious again, what am I supposed to do with that? I can't continue doing that, if mom finds out that I am basically a spider she's gonna freak out. I can't tell her, in fact I can't tell anyone that, that's not something that is supposed to happen. Wait wait hold on, you're overthinking, it's fine everything is fine. When he opens his eyes again he's in shok, he's UPSIDE DOWN IN A BRIDGE, his foot are stuck on the ceiling he depends on his spider foots to survive.
As he starts to freak out his feet start to let go the ceiling "No, no, no" he says so he crouches and glue his hands on there too, he's relieved so he takes a deep breath calming himself, his legs fall from the ceiling and he puts himself back on top of the bidge.
— Welp, that's enough adrenaline for today, or for months even. — He says and starts swinging again heading home.
He gets inside through his window. Mom was heading home soon, so he made it look like he was there the entire time. He hears his mom's steps getting closer and the front door opening, he jumps at his bed and takes his phone out pretending to text his friends. Mom's steps got closer and she knocked on the door.
— Son? — she says entering his room — How're you feeling, I bought soup for you and flavored water, this one is blueberries flavored.
— Thanks mom, I'm really good, actually. — he sits up looking at her.
— I can see that, but you'll have soup no matter what, you had a fever remember? — she hands him the water and he sips it. — Frisbee took good care of my boy this afternoon? — she says it in a baby voice and picks up the dog.
— I'm sure he did. — he plays it while his mom is walking away with the dog on her arms.
I'm lying to them. He lays back down feeling bad for that. He never lied to them. Sorry mom.
