"Protect Faythe!" they exclaimed, he grabbed a girl's hand and they were running. Fire was everywhere and figures on brooms flew around. Kev turned to see the girl he was running and holding hands with. She was crying just as much as he was. But he felt a strong need to protect her no matter what. "Don't worry...I'll protect you" he said to her. She was still crying when one of the flying figures tried to scoop her up. "No!"

Kev jumped up out of his sleep, sweat beating his face and chest. He was out of breath and he pressed a hand to his beating heart. No matter how many times he had the same dream it still frightened him. It was a wonder why he even slept at night. "Are you alright Alpha?" he ran a hand over his face to see one of the maids looking at him with concern. He shooed her away "I am fine" he said. "She nodded "breakfast is ready" she told him as she put down a bath cloth and a towel for him. He nodded as he got out of bed. He walked to the table where the bath cloth and towel were. He wondered what the dream meant, so he walked to the bathroom and ran his shower. They say having a dream over and over again usually means something. But what? Who was the girl in his dream and why did he feel such a strong connection to her even through his dream?

After his shower, he dressed and went downstairs to find the omegas ready for his orders. "Alpha Kev, I have a few things for you to look at" Zander came up and gave him a list of things to handle for the morning. "Can I eat breakfast first?" he grumbled. "Of course," he said. They followed him into the dining room where breakfast was laid out. Kev made his plate and allowed Zander to begin. "There was another murder" Zander said, "do you have any details?" Kev asked "the detective called and asked you to come down to the station." Zander said. Kev nodded, that was the second attack on the pack. Someone was targeting them specifically. But why? With this second murder the pack will want answers that he didn't have to answers to as of yet. "I want our own investigators on the case as well. Something feels supernatural about these attacks" Kev said.

"Make sure my coffee has extra foam on it! They like to be stingy" Faythe's boss Cate Walters snapped from the other end of the phone. "Yes Ma'am" Faythe nodded as she waited in line for what seemed to take hours. "And get me a glazed doughnut, '' she added before hanging up. Faythe was the new employee at Howling Peaks News and so she was Cate's lapdog right now. She didn't mind it at first but she was hoping that she would get a case to prove her writing abilities. But it seemed she wouldn't get that chance any time soon. The line moved up a little more and she began to hear the people in front of her talking. "Can you believe it? Another body was found in the woods'' the lady gossiped to her friend. The gossip caught Faythe's attention, "could it have been an animal attack?" the other asked. "The police aren't sure. And they won't release more information... but I heard that they found the body with their heart gone" the other whispered. Could this be the story that could start her journalist career? Faythe thought with excitement. Not that anyone dying was bad but this could be a big break at Howling Peaks News. "Why was the heart missing:?" "no one knows. I think it's some kind of cult around here" "just crazy" the other gasped. Soon the line began speeding up once another barista opened up another register. Without any trouble Faythe was able to order her boss's drink and doughnut as well as a caffeinated drink of her own.

Faythe rushed into the office and towards Cate's where she sat looking out the window. She turned when she saw her. "About time! I thought I would die" she snapped. "The line was really long" she said. Cate took her cup and bag away from Faythe and began taking a sip. Faythe almost sighed with relief to know that they finally got her order right and Cat wasn't complaining. "Today Faye, you get to sit in on our meeting" she said. "It's Faythe actual..." Cat waved her off. "Upup don't have time for names right now. Come Come" she said. Faythe nodded as she followed her into the conference room. There the other journalists sat waiting for Cat's instructions. "I called this meeting today because I want to uncover the mystery of Howling Peaks," Cat began. Cat turned to Tara Long who was one of their top journalists. "What have you uncovered?" she asked, Tara stood and read from her notes "I was investigating the murder that happened last week. I noticed last week that the victim worked for Kev Swain" Tara said. Cat frowned and shooed her "that's it!? I want more!?" she snapped. This was her chance to prove herself as a journalist. Faythe raised her hand "I overheard at Starbucks that there is another body" Faythe said. Cat glared at her "I don't need idle gossip Faye" she snapped. "I need a real story! Hardcore evidence!" she snapped slamming her hands on the desk. Faythe couldn't give up; she had to at least get her foot in the door. "What if I could get you the evidence?" Faythe asked, "You?" Tara laughed, "the police barely gave me anything" Tara said. "There is more to being an investigative reporter than asking the police," Faythe said confidently. Cat seemed impressed with her confidence. "I will give you until the end of the week to get hardcore evidence, a good tagline, and the article." Cat said. A WEEK?! Faythe thought, she didn't even know where to start!
