"Kev... you're scaring me" Faythe said. "We have to go to my house," Kev said quickly. "What?" Faythe asked, "if one of them has found you... we have to protect you" Kev said firmly. She was what the witches were looking for, "I'll tell you everything once we get home" he said. The words Kara said to her echoed in her mind. "It seems you leave dead people in your wake, Faythe" "No" Faythe said firmly. "I don't want anyone else dying protecting me" she snapped. "Take me home... I'll figure something out on my own" Faythe snapped. Kev looked at her "do you know how stupid you sound? The witches will not stop until they..." "they what? Kill me?" Faythe asked, "apparently I wasn't even supposed to be born! My parents fell in love by chance and had me" Faythe felt more tears brimming her eyes. She hated crying this much but anyone would be crying if they were in her shoes. She angrily wiped at her tears, "Kara probably lied... they probably killed my parents" she said at the realization sunk in. She felt Kev's hand grip hers. "There is a reason you are alive now, don't think for a second that you are not supposed to exist." he said, "and maybe it was go meet me so I can make sure you live" he added. "What can you do with those witches?" Faythe asked, he gave a slight smile. "No more secrets between us. I will tell you once we get home" he said.

No more lies or secrets now, everything has to come to light or the witches will have their way. Alice ran to find Kev and Faythe, they were probably meeting at his house. It was the best form of protection for Faythe. Poor Faythe, "I'm so sorry..." she said to the wind. She would tell both of them the truth. It was the only way.

Getting to Kev's home they went inside. He ushered Faythe to sit on the couch "do you want anything? Tea? Coffee?" Faythe sat with her arms around herself. "If you're going to tell me something as shocking as I heard before, I want to hear it now," Faythe said. Kev nodded as he sat across from her. "I am a werewolf," Kev said simply. Faythe blinked "werewolf?" Faythe asked slowly. "Well, I am the Alpha of the werewolf pack that lives here" he continued. She seemed too stunned to speak as she looked at him. "Do you believe me?" he asked, she slowly nodded "well... I'm a half witch" she said with a shrug. "Werewolves are resistant to a lot of magic," he said. "All except mind magic but that's neither here nor there" Kev said. "Wait... so there are more werewolves?" Faythe asked, "more than you know... Of course we all have our territories.. had them for hundreds of years" Kev said. "So you can transform only on full moons or...?" Kev smiled "At first we could only transform on full moons but as we evolved specifically pure werewolves we can transform anytime. The full moon does give us more powers however" Kev explained. Kev was glad that Faythe could focus on something else other than her own problems... At least for now. "Is Zander a werewolf too?" Faythe asked, he nodded "everyone that works under me is a part of my pack" he said. Faythe's eyes widened "so Gennifer and Ian were werewolves'' Faythe gasped. She quickly reached over and took his hand "I'm sorry" she said. "not your fault" he said as he grasped her hand. "So does a werewolf pack work like a wolf pack?" Faythe asked. "Yes, more or less," he said. "Can... you transform now?" Faythe asked, "as you wish" he stepped back so there was enough space for him to transform. "I have to undress... don't want to ruin this suit," he said. "Oh right!" Faythe exclaimed as she stood and turned around. Although she wouldn't have minded the view. At the sound of a howl she turned to see a huge beautiful black wolf. She wasn't afraid... no he felt familiar. "Wow" Faythe" said slowly then she stopped and touched her head. Suddenly she was back in a forest where a fire ensued. She was riding on the back of the same black wolf... Kev... "Faythe" she was pulled back to reality. "I knew it," Faythe said quickly. Kev looked at her with a question. "You saved me before" she said as she began to pace the room.

Kev looked at her with a question, "we were little... there was a fire and trees..." "You're seeing the past." They turned quickly to see Zander with Allie on his shoulder. "As I suspected the two of you being around each other is triggering it" Faythe gasped "wait my cat can talk?" Faythe asked. "Yes, there is a lot to explain," she said, jumping off of Zander's shoulders. "You knew about this Zander?" Kev snapped at him. "You knew that the witches were after Faythe." Kev stalked over to him and shoved him. "It's not his fault," the cat argued. "Your father made me swear not to tell you," Zander said. "Our pack members died because of this stupid secret" Kev snapped, pacing back and forth. "Please explain this," Faythe said. "Please sit down," Allie said as she sat on the coffee table. Faythe gently touched Kev's arm and after a few minutes he decided to sit down and listen. Zander sat down as well, his head held low.

"I am actually named Alice, I was a part of the coven that is after you now. As you know your mother was also part of the coven" Allie–Alice began. "After your birth the coven was ordered to find and kill Evanora...your mother, your human father, and you. Evanora contacted me telepathically and told me to protect you" Alice said. "There wasn't much I could do to save your parents... I'm sorry" she said sadly. Faythe felt Kev hand on hers for comfort. "We arrived here while you were still a baby and we settled here for a bit. You grew but your magic did as well" Alice said. "Why is the coven really after her? And what would happen if she absorbed too much magic" Kev asked"the reason why covens are so wary of half witches is because they can absorb and use more magic than any ordinary witch but it's also deadly because of their human bodies." Alice explained. "That bracelet you have on is regulating your magic intake" Alice noted pointing at it with her paw. Faythe looked at her bracelet "this? I have had this since I can remember" Faythe said. "Yes, your mother originally made it for you but thanks to her guidance and spell book I was able to adjust it" Alice explained. Faythe held the bracelet close to her chest. "Well, when you were a child... both of you were... Faythe your magic was so strong that the witches were able to find you. But thanks to Kev's father and pack we were able to fend them off but not without sacrifices" Alice had the saddest look in her green eyes. "Kev... your father died in battle and I used the last bit of my magic to temporarily wipe away your memories of that horrid night. That's why I'm a cat now" Alice said.

"Are you using this as an excuse?" Kev snapped standing to his feet. "Kev..." he shushed Faythe. "You tampered with our minds, you didn't give us the choice to choose. I don't even remember my father dying" Kev snapped. "Faythe had no clue who she was because YOU tampered with our minds" Kev snapped. "I know... but at the time I thought it was best..." "and you Zander, you knew about this!" Kev growled, the man that practically raised him had been lying to him this whole time. "It's what your dad asked for" Zander said, "that's a bunch of bull" Kev scoffed. He glared at one and then the other. "No wonder you didn't want me growing close to Faythe because you knew. You knew that it would make me remember" Kev snapped. He stalked back and forth until he stopped and looked at Alice. "But it confirms what that witch told me" Faythe said. He could hear the sadness in her voice, "I do leave dead people in my wake" Faythe said.

She should have been dead, if she was Kev she would be angry with herself too. She was the reason the witches attacked and the reason they were back again. "You don't" Kev said, "then explain! My parents are dead, your dad is dead because I am not supposed to exist!" Faythe exclaimed, "that's not true" Alice tried to convince her. But nothing could convince her that she wasn't the problem. All of her life she wondered who she was and what she came from. Well, she got her wish. "I'm alive and I am here, '' Kev said, trying to get her to look at him. She couldn't, she had to leave... had to protect Kev. "I know this is a lot to take in" Alice said, Faythe could feel her paw on her hand. "But know that you are alive for a reason. Your parents, Kev's father, and the other members of the pack did what they did to protect you. Don't think that their sacrifices meant that you were supposed to be dead but that you should be alive" Alice said. Faythe felt the tears stream down her face. "That is one thing I can agree on," Kev said. Suddenly Kev's phone rang, shattering the silence that fell in the room. "What?..Where?...Alright, I'm on my way, '' Kev said and hung up the phone. "What happened?" Faythe asked him. "That was Detective Hawks, there was a murder, '' Kev explained.

Although he hated to leave Faythe like this, Kev had to make sure it wasn't one of his pack members. "I understand..I can write this article here" Faythe said. Kev nodded and looked up at Zander, he nodded understanding without saying a word. "We will do everything to protect her," he promised. Kev had to take him at his word for now.

"What happened?" Kev asked him, "it's not one of yours this time" Stephan said. "An uber driver, he was found with his neck broken and his car in a wreck" Stephan said. "You called me for an accident?" Kev asked. "I wouldn't have called you if it was just an accident. The man was murdered and the car was set up to look like an accident that killed him" Stephan said. Kev leaned against the desk with a sigh, if it wasn't one thing it was another. "Do you have any idea what could have done this?" Stephan asked "this guy was a regular human" he added. Kev couldn't answer without knowing all the details. "Someone was strong enough and smart enough to set this up," Stephan added. Could it have been one of the witches? But how? "I'll look into it," Kev said. "We'll check the street cameras," Stephan said.
