in PoA, at Christmas there are only 12 people around the dinner table. Trelawny comes along and Dumbledore stands up to draw her a chair. Trelawny refuses, saying that when 13 people sit at a table, the first to stand up dies first. the others dismiss this.
HOWEVER
Ron has scabbers in his pocket. scabbers is actually peter. which mean there weren't 12 people at the table when Trelawny arrived, there were 13. DUMBLEDORE STOOD UP.
we all know how that ended.
