08: Christmas Spirit
A woman decided it would be best to Pepper spray santa during the holiday season over a simply children toy and after Buck ruined a bunch of children's holidays by telling them that the Santa they were helping wasn't real and the Holiday season was taking off rather nicely after that, Delia and her boys was Hanging out with Eddie, Buck, Hen, Christopher and denny, she had been baking all day and made some yummy sugar cookies.
"It got ugly. After I said I had to work on Christmas, he went straight to his room and wouldn't speak to me for the rest of the night."
"Mm. It's just new. He'll get over it." Hen hums into her eggnog as Delia comes from the kitchen and piles more cookies onto the tray.
" Abuela's bringing him to my aunt's. I know he's gonna have a great time. He just-- last Christmas was... special. This one's harder."
" Uh-huh. Is that why you invited us all here? Trying to cram in as much Christmas cheer between now and then?" Hen smiles as Delia takes a seat next to them at the table.
" Well, I thought it'd be nice to bring the boys together for a playdate." They watch the boys who are building gingerbread houses at Eddie's coffee table.
" All five of 'em." Delia comments causing everyone to laugh. Truth be told Buck was the biggest child ever and Delia loved that about him.
"All right, who needs more cement?" Buck asks. Mixing a container of white frosting around with a popsicle stick.
"I do." " -Me." Denny and Christopher say at the same time.
Jose and Miguel just smile and nod quietly. It had become nice having a male role model around for the boys to look up too. Delia was granted temporary full custody of the boys until Paloma got out of her rehabilitation program.
" Denny, we will do you first with this big ol' piece." He picks up a side panel of Denny's house.
"-Hey, Buck."
"Yeah."
" Can I spend Christmas with you, Miguel, Jose and Dellie?" Christopher asks as Buck looks up at the adults at the table across the room.
" I'm sorry, buddy, but me and Lea are gonna be working on Christmas with-- with your dad." He explains as Christopher's face turns sour.
" Stupid work."
" I promise you. He'll forget he was even mad by New Year's." Hen tries to console Eddie who looks like he might cry as Delia gives his shoulder a comforting squeeze.
