01. Fire, Hoes, Snakes, :
Delia Summers was always a joy to be around. She was never in a bad mood, always smiling and laughing. That's how she became. She had turned all the ugly, bad, and scary things into happy thoughts and Rainbows, with little tiny dancing leprechauns screaming about overpriced cereal with bad marshmallows and even worse advertising. She had been in L. For a while and had figured out in's and outs of the fire station, but this wasn't her first rodeo, back home her firehouse was a lot like this one in the family aspect but when she first got here she saw what this firehouse had to offer and it sold her the minute she stepped foot into the room or rather he sold her. Bobby Nash, her fire chief, sold her this idea of them working together as one. The words house ' means welcoming and inviting' while the word fire means ' light, scary, and dangerous.'
Los Angeles was the city where dreams came true, and all Delia wanted was to forget about the things she had been through, even if it meant she had to move in with her sister for the time being and let L.A find her dream. She didnt mind her sister Paloma was the best thing to ever happen to her. See after being adopted as a teenager she thought that the universe was doing to take pity on her but it was completetly the opposite, the universe wanted to give her a gift and a sister was the best gift anyone whose family went to shit quickly could ask for.
Delia was born on a reservation where family meant everything but blood meant nothing; her mom was a kindergarten teacher who loved her job. Delia sometimes thought she loved being a teacher more than she loved her. But that was complete and utter bullshit, Delia was her world, and she was Delia's world until she slipped away into a peaceful forever slumber; her brain bled because of a tumor.
Things were never the same; she never really knew much of what it meant to be missing a parent that quickly, and word traveled fast around the rez; before long, he was put into foster care. Her dad died way before she could remember him, and maybe that was okay. She heard he wasn't the best person, and her mom regretted meeting him, but she never regretted Delia.
Delia made her way towards the stairs leading up to the Kitchen, smiling as she saw Hen, someone she had become close with since she started on this team a year ago.
They had gotten along so well that they were nicknamed the Wonder Twins because whenever they worked together, everything seemed to flow together with wonder and ease. That and they were basically like Wonder Woman. When she reaches the top of the stairs Hen smiles at her while still listening to Chimney who is droning on and on
Bobby was chopping a few veggies when Delia jumped into action and handed him the bowl from the counter with the rest of the contest for what seemed to be a salad. He placed it next to Chim on the counter.
" I know exactly what that polite, distant smile means: she's bored. One foot out the door. This woman's far from my league, but she's just a once-in-a-lifetime. I can't let her go."
