6: A little change won't hurt

Y/N awkwardly in front of the gym and waits for the captain. She only realized what she is doing, even after giving the male captain big words that contain the hurtful truth she never realized how it can leave an impact on her.

Maybe the male will try not to cross their paths again, 'eh, doesn't matter, his friend is b/n not me.' But it felt like she just step on the poo and put her two hands on her head, "shit shit shit" She keeps muttering the cursed word.

Y/N only realized that she has to befriend the male but it won't happen if he'll avoid her! "stupid stupid stupid! If only I didn't skip some parts!" She almost shouted when someone tap her shoulder.

"Regretting your decision on joining?" Yui asked with a teasing smile and she felt a warm feeling around her cheeks.. ah she is blushing.

She covered her face and released words with a muffled sound, "not like that, I just remember some.. embarrassing things." Yui chuckled at her response, "it's fine! do you know whenever I take a bath I remember some too and I literally punch the air!"

She hopes that can feel her better and Y/N nod while her face is still covered. Slowly she let her hands fall, "the other members will be here too! Let's what you've got!"

To Yui she thought that Y/N have less skills since she only learned this sports just this month. But she did not expect that she is close on perfecting the basics. A stupid thoughts even crossed on her mind.

'Maybe this can be their time to shine.' But anyone can tell that a group won't shine with just one star. It feels like she is a prodigy or another star that the male volleyball club have.

"I think you should bend more-" Y/N did what Yui asked, "-yeah that one." And she prepared to serve and another successful receive occur.

"You are doing great!" She complimented which made her smile, Yui can see few bruises here and there, and she can tell that the woman is just another league, someone who always try harder.

Before Yui can release another word the other member aggressively open the door, it seems like they are looking forward seeing the new member, "oh my!! you are so cute!" Y/N smile, "thank you, you are too!"

"You're already practicing?" Y/N nod, "let's make quick introduction and practice!" Yui suggested.

The introduction ended well and they suggested to give Y/N a better clothes to wear.

"You really look like a member now, L/N-san!" Mao said

"Aren't I cool?" Y/N release a 'hehe' after that and Mao agree.

The practice seems.. okay, they taught her few tricks and how to have good teamwork, they even joked she'll be a good libero but she keep denying it. "I want to attack! I want to destroy!" She insisted with that reason.

The practice finally ended and Y/N is content. She is happy that things can be easier.

The sun finally sets and rises once again with new meaning.

"How is it joining L/N-senpai? Is it easy?" Hinata asked, both of the students decided that they'll come to school together, Hinata will give her a ride using his bike and Y/N even thought that she should teach him how to skate since he looks like he is interested.

"It is so easy!" Y/N exclaimed, "we are so early. Do you think someone is already in the gym?" She asked, "yeah! I think it is Kageyama, it is really hard to convince the captain but I think it is worth it!"

"Ohh our captain is really nice! Is he really that strict?"

"Yeah! Before I can sign up on the team he said I have to get along with that punk!"

"Looks like I am not the only troublemaker here- shit watch the road!" She tighten her grip to the shorter man and Hinata almost lost control if Y/N didn't pointed it out. Both laugh after realizing their stupidness. They arrived on the school, "let's check out the gym!" He suggested and they run towards the gym.

"ARGHH Kageyama is here first!" She snorted, "I guess that punk you called is that 'kageyama'"'

"Yup you got it." She chuckle on his response, and the Kageyama that they are talking about look at their direction and raised an eyebrow and have scary grin once his eyes is focused to Hinata. "it is now 40 - 38"

Hinata released a 'tsk'. "38 is your score?" She bend a bit to whispered, "y-yeah." He refused to admit, "ehh what a loser." Hinata widened his eyes and his hands went near to where the heart is located and clutch it, "ughh I thought we were friends."

She chuckled on his reaction, "kidding, just do well next time."

Hinata went inside but she hesitated even though there are only two people, "come here, Kageyama don't bite!"

Kageyama in distance watched their interaction, he never saw Hinata inviting someone that stunning, "watch me receive his serve! Oi send me a serve!"

"Shut it! We know you won't receive it!" He heard the snort from the woman, "Hey L/N-senpai you are my ally here!"

"Sure, sure" She replied and silently watched them, she observe how their feet work and the timing. Hinata managed to receive it but it is 'off', but it is still fine on her perspective. After that Hinata look at her and exclaimed. "Ohh I did well, right?! Y/N you wanted to be spiker, right?!" He pointed at Kageyama, "he's a setter, he'll set for you!"

Kageyama raised his eyebrow, "why am I getting drag here?" Hinata walk toward to him and whispered, "I'll treat you some food, just do it!"

But to be honest it doesn't look like a whisper because she can still hear it. "L/N-san come here!"

Hinata serve and she received it and send it to Kageyama, the boy tried to calculate how long she can jump and set it high enough and see her jump. No, fly.

The spike is powerful enough and the ball even bounce again and reached the ceiling but unfortunately it is out.. he heard her mutter a 'tsk'.

She knows how to timing but cannot handle her strength. "Are you a beginner?" He come closer to her to ask, "yes, do you know how to handle the strength?"

"...You'll need a target." She nod and looked at Hinata, "that's so amazing!"

Y/N L/N found herself again on the third year floor and she waited for Yui, "practice?"

Yui widened her eyes on the realization, "not all of the members can practice, is it okay?" Y/N nod, "yes, it's fine." Y/N thought that she just have to take the captain so when the others ask where she is they'll be push to try hard too.

On the court they stood there, Yui is trying to teach her how to control her strength, it become an issue how powerful it is but cannot be control. That strength will be helpful however it will not be useful if it cannot be used too.

Another day passed and Hinata and Y/N decided to go together and they are earlier than Kageyama so that made Hinata smile a bit. Y/N is still trying to control her strength with the help of Hinata.

After that she came to Yui classroom and ask for her. In a week this is only what Y/N keep doing.

The other members noticed the two keep practicing and it felt like a little change just occur.

"L/N-san" She looked at Mao the ace of the team, "I heard you are asking to control your strength." Mao offered her a drink, "you should have ask me." Y/N smiled a bit, "are you going to join to our practice?"

"yeah, I have a lot of time to spare to help my kouhai." She chuckle on her reasoning. Another week passed and now there are two people helping her, she managed to have a grasp on her strength.

Rinko eyed the new member, Y/N. "This is your plan to keep all of us to practice?"

She shrugged, "I want to win and I need all of you, if this is the way then I'll do it in my way."

"Mhmm, see you in gym." That made her tensed up, she never knew that it will really work. Pressuring someone so they could work together. But she can tell that they are not bother on the changes she decide to make. A little bit won't hurt right?
