Necklim and his fellow Warrior angels knelt before their Commander in the Throne Room. Their hands rested on their knees, heads bowed.
"Necklim, Sarta, Denab, Nolan." They rose, one at a time at the sound of their name. "You've each done good and completed your missions. Katelyn is safe for now."
"For now?" Nolan asked.
The Commander let a slight smile cross his lips. "Yes, my Warrior. For now." He glanced over each one before he continued. "You know the enemy will not give up so easily. There's still a plan in place for her family line. But not only has evil been made known to her, the goodness has as well."
Nolan nodded his head, "You speak the truth, as always, Commander."
"I'll be sending Guardians down to watch over Katelyn, her mom, Trevor, his family, and Miranda as well. They will be targeted more."
"Shall you need us again, it would be an honor to protect and fight for Katelyn and her friends. Anytime."
"I would like for you to meet the Guardians I've assigned to them." He called out their names,"Nove, Asleri, Makoi, Basholi, Kanone." The Guardians entered the room one at a time and knelt before the One on the Throne, then nodded in the Warriors direction.
"Guardians," the Commander waved His hand towards the four angels that had stepped to the side, "these are the Warriors that were just released from your current charges. They fought hard to keep their souls from harm. Now it's your turn to fight just as hard to protect them."
"Yes, Commander," They stated in unison.
"Kanone, you will guard Katelyn. Nove, you will guard Trevor. Basholi, you will guard Miranda. Asleri, you will guard Trevor's parents, and Makoi, you will guard Leah, Katelyn's mom."
"Yes, Commander."
"Go now to your charges. Be watchful."
Necklim, Nolan, Sarta and Denab observed the Guardians as they flew from the Throne room to their new positions on earth.
"They will be well guarded, Nolan."
"I know, Commander."
"Let's give Nolan a moment," Necklim said.
"That's a wise idea, Necklim," the Commander replied in a gentle voice.
"Nolan."
He turned back towards the Commander after the doors to the room shut behind his fellow fighters."
"Yes, Commander."
"Nolan, tell me what's on your mind."
"Forgive me, my Lord. But I'm positive you already know that."
"True. I want to hear it from you, though."
Nolan sighed. "I'm concerned for Katelyn."
"Why? Do you not trust the light that's been started in her life?"
"It's not that, my Lord."
"What is it then, Nolan?"
"The book, Commander. It's been in her family for a long time. It has had a strong impact in past generations."
"That's true, Nolan. Katelyn now has something she didn't have before though – the knowledge to fight against that evil force. To break that for not only herself, but future generations as well. Correct?"
"Correct, my Lord."
"Trust the Guardians to do their work, Nolan. They will call on Me if help is needed. In return, I'll summon you and the others."
