Embry Johnson lives in a studio apartment with her daughter Riley. She's struggles with helping her cope with bipolar disorder.
Until she meets a man that could give her everything she ever wanted and needed.
"Carla it's your last chance tell if you're not up to working extra hours" "when have you known me not to speak my mind" sge asks. "True dat true dat" I laugh.
"We're working the graveyard shift then he has a breakfast date for us" i state. "And considering out last proper date was scheduled when you and I were on the ER with her" referring to the wild 6 year old in the back.
I walk up to Riley. "Be good listen to Tete okay" "no stay" "I have work baby I can't" "NO STAY" she yells. "STAY STAY STAY" she fusses. "I can't Riley I'll see you in the morning" "I HATE YOU" she runs to her room and slams the door.
"I'm so sorry" "d-don't be it's not anyones fsult" I get up and walk out.
"Em" I look up "take lien 2 they're asking for you" "okay why" "they requested you specifically more like demanded" I nod. I pick up. "911 what's your emergency" "hi Em it's Athena you recognize my voice" She asks.
"Athena hey what's up Sergeant" "uh no just Athena" she corrects. "Ight what's going on are you on duty" "this is a personal call i um seem to have gotten myself in a-a bit of a jam I need you to call Henrietta and have her call me back with this number" she demands.
"I uh okay" I call Hen. "Hey Em" "so you need to call Thena at this number im sending you and uh from the sounds if it take pictures" I ask with giggle. "Got it" I smile.
I hear my phone buzz. I look at the phone and burst out laughing. I call her. "THENA" I laugh. "You asked for pictures fool" I laugh holding my stomach. "That's tuff" "okay I'm getting the key" I hear movement.
"Set it in the dresser" I stop shocked. "Mhm" "mkay well damn" she sets the keys down. I laugh a bit "get it girl" I state. "Lemme bring yo belt over here in case y'all wanna get kinky with the taser" I snicker. "Bye hen bye Em" "wait lemme just get a" she lifts the camera up and takes a screenshot.
We laugh.
"We just leave them too it" "thank you for calling me Em" I nod. "I gotta call see you Hen" she nods.

I drive up to the location Buck sent me.
I see him with flowers and park.
I get out the car. "Hey" "Hey" I smile.
"What is this" I ask curiously. "It's our date" he answers. "Oh my god" "hey" we peck on the lips.
"These are for you" "thank you" I say happily.
I grab his arm. I look up "no way are you serious" I ask him. "Uh huh" "you're kidding" "no" I smile at him.
"You ever been up in one" "no the calls I've answered were ones that crashed" I state. He turns back "I'm joking I'm joking it's awesome" I tell him. "And uh there is champagne and truffles on board" "you're spoiling me" I state.
"We'll you're amazing I want to make sure you I make you feel that way so today we fly" my phone rings ."hold up" I take my phone out and answer it.
"You what's up" "sorry sweetheart" "shes having another episode but she's not angry" I sigh. "Put hee on the phone" "MOMMY MOMMY" she cries out.
"LEE LEE it's me what's wrong" I ask her. "Mo-mommy I want mommy" she cries. "I think she needs to see you" "keep her calm try putting on Winx for her until I get there" I suggest. "Got it" "everything okay" "I'm sorry I gotta go" I apologize. "Hot air balloon" he says disappointed.
"I know I'm so sorry it's Riley " "you can't just reschedule this like a dinner reservation" I press my lip together. "I'm sorry she's never been away from me like this before she's freaking out right now" "it's fine" I smile sympathetically. "Thank you" I lean up and kiss him.
I walk out.
Buck I walk into the change room and see Bobby. "Thought you had the morning off wre you supposed to be up in a blimp or something" "hot air balloon and uh she bailed on me Riley wasn't doing well" I explain. "that's a bummer happens" "yeah I don't know" I chuckle.
"I'm- I'm super into her you know she is she's really smart and when she makes fun of me I doesn't make me feel bad she's has her own money the sex is...insane" "here I thought she just had great hair" he jokes.
"She's the perfect woman but this is the second week in a row that my day off has been screwed up because she has to go and take care of her daughter" I state. "We'll people who are great tend to have full lives people who depend on them yeah and- and I really like her daughter she's this energetic funny great kid and I admire the way Emmy protects her" I pause.
"I'm- im staring to think maybe- maybe this kind of relationship isn't for me" "you means reall one" he asks.
"I'm I mean I'm 26 right you know I- I want to have fun you know and I'm not saying that I should go and start jumping back into bed with every girl I meet I'm- im not trying to be that guy anymore but maybe I should find something that is a little less adult" I vent.
"Look all those things that you feel when you're with Embry the closeness intimacy and trust those things don't come for free any woman of substance and experience has lived a life and she's gonna come with some baggage I think your problem is you're hoping to pull her out of this trap she's in with her kid that's not gonna happened so what she needs is for you to step inside with her keep her company in there" he states.

We sit at a cafe. "Is this cool like I figured we try someplace completely not special so- so if you had to cancel it you wouldn't feel bad" "I'm sorry this is great this is really great" I state.
"How's Riley doing" "apparently she has separation anxiety when it comes to me she'll learn to get used to it I talked to her and she said she'll try and that it's help if Bucky came over" I state. He chuckles "so better" "It's getting there" I state.
"But liek I don't want to put you in a position where you have to be a father to hee because your not and I whisky want to trap you" he chuckles. "You're breaking up with me right" "no I think I'm just ya know letting you go" I state.
"See I feel like anyone else most people if they were dealing with the stuff you have to deal with everyday they would see it as a cage but you don't you find a way to break free you find a way to be yourself you find...life and if the price i have to pay for being close to the woman I love is yeah whatever a couple of cancelled dates then you know what then that is one heck of a good deal and I am in im not going anywhere" I smile. "You love me" I ask. "Always and forever" "I love you too" I kiss him.
