No matter what happens, no matter how far we are apart, I will always return to you, and that's a lifetime promise.

As Grayfia Lucifuge finished her work in the kitchen and headed to the Ballroom to make sure that everything were in order, she couldn't help but think back to the Rating Game match that had happened yesterday and led to the wedding event that would happen at the Gremory Residence tomorrow night that would set the unification of two great Devil Clan. The wedding of Rias Gremory and Riser Phenex.

Ten days had passed since the day Raiser came into Rias' clubroom and got her to challenge him in a Rating Game, the game that everyone, even the little princess herself had known that she would lost even before the match even began.

It was clear to Grayfia that Rias' attempt was out of desperation. She had hoped for a miracle to happen to her and her peerage. While no one could deny that each and every single member of Rias' peerage were talented and held tremendous potential, it still had been a match of five against sixteen. Not only had Raiser had the advantage of number, but he also had been very well prepared and experienced with Rating Game. No one could blame Rias for losing such battle.

Grayfia herself had been the one who declared the defeat of Rias Gremory, and she had been extremely busy since then. As the headmaid of Riria Lucifer, Rias' older sister, it was her job to make sure that the wedding would be nothing but perfection, taking great pleasure and responsibility in doing all this because she knew well how important this wedding would be for the future of the Devil faction.

But her mind couldn't help but think of Naruto Uzumaki, wondering what would he do if he still had his memories of her and found out Rias was getting married to someone that she obviously did not love. She knew that the blond wouldn't be pleased at all. In fact, if he was even half the person he had been when the two of them first met, then Naruto would most likely stomp into Phenex Residence and force Raiser's parents to cancel the engagement between two family immediately.

Thinking about Naruto made Grayfia think about Riria, and she couldn't help but let out a sigh. Riria had been very distracted recently, to the point that she became lost in her own world during important meetings with the clan heads. It wasn't just because her adorable little sister was getting married, but it was also because that day was coming near. It was the day that ten years ago she thought she had lost everything.

Grayfia still remembered how Riria had fallen apart at his funeral, which had been held in secret. Two months later, the new Lucifer still barely kept herself together. She didn't eat, and she refused to leave her room. Even now, even in the middle of the night, Grayfia could still hear her mistress sobbing and crying quietly to herself.

If it wasn't for the sakes of her son and her sister, Riria might never recover. The innocent smiles of two children had brought Riria back from desperation and slowly but gradually, she began to show sign of her life again, and came back to her old self about a year later.

But unlike everyone, Grayfia knew full well that Riria had never gotten over Naruto's death. She just pretended to be happy, to be strong for the her son, but the maid knew that deep down inside, she was a broken woman.

Riria just loved Naruto too much to be able to forget him.

But it was also the reason why Riria could never hold onto false hope, the reason why she had lashed out at her Queen and best friend when she suggested that it might be her husband when Rias came and told them about the mysterious blond she had met. One too many times she had met his descendants, and thought they might be him because of the uncanny resemblances.
