Once everyone finished changing their clothes after the funeral, they waited for the lawyer to turn up.
They waited for about twenty minutes, until he finally arrived.
Jeanette introduced him and Simon to each other, and they all went to the dining room to discuss their father's wills.
"Alright then." Mr. Richardson said. "Who're we starting with?" He asked, setting everything up.
"Uh, go ahead and start with whoever you want to, sir" Simon responded.
"Please, call me George." He said with a smile.
Simon returned the smile and nodded.
"Well then young man, why don't we start off with you? Yours will be the simpler to clarify..." The lawyer said, pulling out Arthur's will.
"Arthur Lee was your father, correct?" He asked.
"Yes, sir." Said Simon.
"Alright, just let me just look this over..." George said as he scanned the will.
"Okay...well, it looks like your father left a great deal of his things to you." He surmised.
The lawyer told Simon everything that Arthur left him, including all of his savings, their home, laboratory, experiments, and, if Simon wanted, his old business.
"So, everything that was your father's, is now yours, Simon." The lawyer said.
Simon nodded. Suddenly he realized, he was expected to help everyone in town with their medical needs.
Not exactly what a sixteen-year-old dreams of, but he's still glad to help others in need.
Simon felt some relief that he practiced and perfected everything his father had taught him.
Once Mr. Richardson was done summarizing Arthur's will, he moved on to the Miller's.
"Alright ladies, now for your father's will." He said with some severity.
Jeanette's heart was pounding inside of her chest, she knew what was coming, she just hoped it wasn't true...
"Now, it says here, 'When my time has come, I inherit my kingdom to my oldest daughter, Jeanette.' Well congratulations, Jeanette!" The lawyer said respectfully.
That was exactly what she was afraid of.
"Oh, wait there's more, 'The oldest shall inherit the kingdom, but, must give up the throne if one of her sisters marry before her.'" He said.
"Basically, if your sisters, Brittany or Eleanor here, marry before you do, you must give up the throne to them, since they have someone to be crowned King. " Mr. Richardson explained.
Jeanette nodded, and he continued going over everything else their father left them.
Simon didn't know how to feel about Jeanette being queen, many fearful thoughts came to him, Will we be able to spend time together at all? What if she marries someone else? She'll probably fall for a prince over me... Will she forget about me?
