Full Moon

1975

Remus laid on the floor of the Shrieking Shack, shaking and crying. This had been possibly the worst full moon ever, even if his three animagus friends had been there. Remus had insisted that his friends left, even though they wanted to stay with him. He had ruined everything, he was sure of that. Remus could hear steps through his crying, but couldn't be bothered to look up.
"Moony?" The voice was familiar.
"I thought I told you to leave!" Remus cried. "Now leave me alone!" The person stepped closer. "Moony..."
"I said leave me alone!" At this point Remus was sobbing. The person sat down and pulled Remus up from the floor into a hug.
"P-Padfoot?" Remus looked up at Sirius' face with puffy, red eyes and a tear-drenched face. Sirius nodded and put his head on Remus' head. Remus just sat there, with his eyes closed and tears quietly running down his face.
"Why haven't you left me yet?" he wondered, holding Sirius tightly around the waist.
"Because you're our friend", Sirius answered, stroking Remus' hair.
"I'm a monster. A beast. You should've never befriended me." Remus took a shakey, deep breath and then continued. "I'm a burden. I'm dangerous." Sirius sighed.
"No. You're none of those things. You're smart, kind, beautiful-" Sirius stopped himself, blushing. "Beautiful? I'm not beautiful." Sirius decided to take the risk and continue.
"Yes you are. You're absolutely stunning." Remus blushed a little.
"You don't mean that." Sirius lifted Remus' chin which made him look at him.
"I do." There was a moment of silence. Suddenly Remus threw his arms around Sirius' neck and kissed him. Sirius looked shocked for a moment but then put his hands on Remus' face and kissed him back. A few seconds went by before Remus pulled away. His face was bright red.
"I'm- I'm sorry! I don't know why I did that!" Sirius just looked at him. Remus, for the second time that night, thought that he had ruined everything and tried to get out of Sirius' grip. "Moony."
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." Sirius smiled. He grabbed Remus' chin again and slowly moved his face closer until their lips touched again.
"Don't be sorry." Sirius stroked Remus' hair back and kissed him again.
"Stop it", Remus mumbled, embarrassed.
"I love you, Moony." A faint smile flashed across Remus' face.
"I love you too, Padfoot."
