The marauders were walking down the stairs to the dungeons, they had potions class next. Professor Slughorn was already standing in front of the class when the marauders arrived and sat down at the same table, as they usually did. Slughorn started talking about Amortentia, the strongest love potion in the world. He explained that it smelled different from everybody, usually smelling like two things you loved and sometimes your soulmate. Then he asked everyone to pick up their books and cauldrons and start brewing the potion.

About an hour passed by and almost everyone were done brewing their potions. Remus was smelling his potion and smelled something familiar, but couldn't place his finger on it.
"Alright! Is everyone done? Good! Now, miss Evans, why don't you go ahead and tell us what you smell?" Lily told the class what she smelled. Professor Slughorn raised his eyebrows at her and told Remus to go next.
"Well... I smell... books, chocolate and..." suddenly he realised what that familiar smell was. "Dog fur", he finished quietly, blushing although only three more people in the room knew what that meant. Sirius looked at Remus but he avoided eye contact.
"Mr Black, what do you smell?"
"Leather, something I don't exactly know what it is and... wolf", Sirius said, trying to make the last word inaudiable, but Remus and James who sat next to him heard. Sirius looked at James through the corner of his eye. The black-haired boy with glasses looked as though he was about to explode because he was holding in his laughter. Sirius gave him a death stare and mouthed the words "don't you dare". Then he looked at Remus again. The boy was still bashfully looking away. Sirius touched Remus' hand under the table. Remus looked at him and blushed before sneaking his hand into Sirius'.

When they got out of the classroom James was roaring with laughter.
"I knew it! I knew it!" he kept saying.
"Prongs, shut up." Sirius looked at him, trying to stay serious, but soon burst out laughing as well. Remus just shook his head.
"What's wrong with you two?"
"Don't act like you don't love us." Sirius pulled a hand through his hair. Remus chuckled. He did love them... though, in two very different ways.

That night in the dorms Sirius crawled up next to Remus on his bed.
"What are you looking at, Moony?" he asked.
"The stars", Remus answered. "They remind me of you."
"You look so peaceful like that," Sirius said. Remus put his head on his shoulder. "Can I...?" Remus nodded. Sirius grabbed Remus' face softly and planted a kiss on his lips.
