The next day...

I stand at the beach. Alone. I don't know what to say to Candy. She doesn't want to talk to me.

"Can we talk?"

It's Ryan behind me.
I turned to face him.

"Not now, Ryan"
"Please?" He asked again.

I sighed.

"Alright fine!" I let him talk.
"I'm really sorry to have come between you and Candy. I didn't know she liked me that much." He started.

"It doesn't matter how much she likes you. You and Candy were dating, and you never date your friend's exes." I told him.

"I know that. You dated Russ, and he's my best friend."
"Then I guess you don't value his friendship." I replied.
"I guess not... do I have any chance with you, Madison?" He asked.

"I'm sorry Ryan, but you and I won't happen." I told him the kindest way as possible.

"Ugh, fine. Bye" he walked away.

"Hey." I started.
"Hey." She replied.
"Listen, I'm really sorry- "
"I'm sorry about-"
We talked at the same time, so we both just laughed.

"Are we good?" I asked Candy.
"Yeah! I overreacted. I'm really sorry for what I said to you." She explained.
"I'm sorry too. I would never do anything to hurt you."
"I know."
We both smiled.

A couple hours later...

I stand in me and Candy's room. I had a painting class, and Candy had a dancing class or something. Ava wanted us to do something meaningful on this trip.

The door opened. It's Candy.

"Now tell me." She smiled.
"What?" I don't know what she means.
"You and Easton." She commented.

"No there's nothing between us. We haven't done anything." I told her
"Yet." She winked.
I rolled my eyes playfully.

"But you like him, yeah?" Candy sat down at the end of Candy's bed, cause it was closer to me.
"Very much, and it really confuses me." I sighed.

"Tell him how you feel."
"Are you INSANE?! He has a girlfriend too!" I sat down next to her.

"Admitting how you feel could give you the closure you need to move on." Candy looked at me.

"You're kidding right? There's no way I'm telling him that." I looked at the empty wall.
"No, Madison. I'm not kidding. But it's totally okay if you don't want to." She stood up and walked to her bag to find a hairbrush. I followed her.

"You really think it will help?" I asked her.
"Absolutely!" She turned to look at me.
"But I don't know what to say." I say calming.

"Give me your phone. Relax, I won't send it." I took my phone out of my pocket and gave it to Candy.

"What are you gonna write?" I asked.
"Here, read." She gave me the phone back.

The message was: This will probably come as a shock to you, but I need to tell you this before I go crazy. I'm insanely attracted to you. I don't expect you to say or do anything, I just wanted to get it off my mind. I think you're sexy by the way ;).

"Sexy? Really? I can't send this. I'm definitely deleting it."

Oh. My. God. NO

"Madison are you okay? You seem shocked." Candy asked me.
"Holy shit! I accidentally sent it!" I shouted.

"No no no, this can't be happening to me." I added.
I walked around the room.

"Where are you going?" Candy asked, really calm.
"To drown myself in the ocean!"
"We can still fix this!" Candy walked to me.
"How?"
