Like any other day during the week, Lynny and I are walking to our first period. We usually just talk about random things but, Avery had introduced a new game to us. She said, ''going your normal route you do everyday, count how many cute guys you see and at lunch we'll tell each other how many guys we counted.''.

As I turned to Lynny I asked her how many guys had she counted.

"Darn me ! I totally forgot to count and I saw some cute guys too!" I couldn't help but laugh a little. The expression on her face and the tone in her voice was priceless. My voice was a little high from laughing.

"It's okay, now you know to count."

*****************************

Only two more minutes till the bell rings and then I'm on my way to fourth period! I had softball fourth so as you can see I was excited.

*Errrrrggggg* the shrill sound of the bell filled the classroom.

"Your such a nerd! Why are you rushing to your next class?" I knew his voice. Its was Johnny. You see I thought I used to like him, but thought it best to just stay friends.

"Because, I have gym 2! If you hadn't noticed is all the way across campus." I was laughing at him because of the stupid smirk he was giving me.

"It's not that far! You're just a nerd thats it." his voice was a teasing manner.

"Yes, Johnny. I am a nerd." at this point I was going to be late and I knew I had no point in winning this. "Okayyy, I gotta go. Bye Johnny." I gave him one last smile and walked off.

"BYE LILA!" that dork. I heard him all the way from downstairs. I couldn't help the smile that was occupying my lips.

I push the door open and start walking across campus. It's a little cold outside, so a shiver runs through my body. For some strange reason I have the urge to look behind me. Because of my stupid instincts I peek a glance behind me and I see HIM. The guy from this morning, the guy wearing the letterman! He was laughing at his friend and he had the most adorable look on him. I also noticed that he was holding a baseball glove! He's perfect! He's gorgeous, he's tall, nice body, and he plays BASEBALL! I guess he had the same idea because at that moment his eyes flickered to mine and that second it seemed as if time had just stood still. Now I know I sound corny or one of those love sick girls in those cheesy hopeless romantic novels, but that's what it seemed like. We both smiled a little smile, I was the first to drop it though. Feeling the blush crawl its way up my cheeks, I quickly turn around and walk to the locker room.

I practically tackle Lynny! "OMG, OMG, OMG!" I wasn't even trying to hide the giant smile plastered to my face.

"What, what's wrong?" you could tell she was worried or maybe she could tell something happened because she was smirking at me like she knew something I didn't.

"You know the guy I told you about this morning? The cute guy in the hallway." My voice was coming out in short ragged breaths from practically running over here.

"Umm, the guy that I didn't see?" confusion was in her voice but she still didn't let the smirk fall from her face.

"Yess, him! Well anyway, when I was walking over here , I turned around and I saw him walking with his friends. He was holding a baseball glove! Lynny this just practically makes him perfect! Then, we made eye contact and he smiled! Lynny, he smiled! Well I broke the contact and came rushing over here to tell you! This totally made my day." I was already out of breath by the time I finished.

"Aweee, that's adorable!!" her voice came out a little higher.

"Yeah, but I'll probably never see him again" a little bit of disappointment was evident in my voice.

"Lila, you don't know that. Don't think negative, maybe he's your soulmate." I could hear the hope in her voice.

"Yeah, maybe." hope was clearly in my voice.

"Lets get to lunch, I'm starving!" at that exact moment my stomach growled. "Omg, that sounded like a dying walrus!" Lynny's voice was coming out in between her chuckles.

"Shut up! Come on, we have to go update Avery on everything that happened today!" I was already ten steps in front of her when I said this.

Lynny and I walk into the cafeteria and it's empty right now one of the perks of having softball 4th period. I see Avery already sitting at our usual table, once she spots us she starts to walk in our direction. I knew Avery noticed that something happened because immediately her eyes grew wide with curiosity.

"Who is he, what's his name, and what happened !?" it was kinda scary how she got all of this so fast from my expression.

"What do you mean? There's no guy." I try as best as I can to sound convincing.

"Lila, you have a giant smile on, you're practically glowing, and you have a hint of blush hugging your cheeks. Now if it's not a guy then please tell me what has gotten you so excited." she was using her caring you know im right voice. There's no point in trying to hide it any longer, even though I wanted to tell her myself.

"Okayy, so basically Lynny and I were walking to our first period and I saw this really cute guy wearing a letterman. I tried to show Lynny but she was just making it obvious." as I was replaying the events to Avery I heard Lynny cut in.

"HEY! It's not my fault and I wasn't that obvious." both Avery and I burst into a fit of laughter.

"Lynny, I can totally picture you looking everywhere. I'm sorry but you kinda are a little obvious." Avery was trying to keep a straight face as she was talking to Lynny. I on the other-hand thought that this was hilarious and erupt into a fit of giggles. Two seconds later both Lynny and Avery join in.

"I was a little obvious wasn't I ?" Lynny had managed to ask me between her laughter.

"Just a smidge." everyone was still laughing at this point.

"Okay okay. Lila please finish." Avery really wanted to know what happened, well what can you expect she's our hopeless romantic in the group.

"Like I was saying I saw this really cute guy this morning. Well when I was walking to softball I looked behind me and saw him. He looked so adorable! He was laughing with his friends and most importantly he had a baseball glove! So he's probably on varsity! Then at the same time we both made eye contact and we both smiled! He has the most amazing smile! Well I broke the eye contact, I blushed like a lot, and I rushed over here to tell Lynny." I was fangirling right now there was no doubt about it.

"Awwh, Lila you guys had a moment!" Avery seemed like she was fangirling too. "Why'd you drop the eye contact though?!" she had a 'c'mon really' tone in her voice.

"Well I don't know, I guess I just got flustered. Plus I practically looked like a riped tomato." I was starting to blush thinking about the moment again.

"What if he's your soulmate!?" here we go again with the soulmate buisness, this time it was Avery who asked.

"Who knows, maybe he is." I was smiling while saying this. Who knows what's going to happen.
