"cry" by Rhianna
" Every man has his secret sorrow which the world knows not and often times we call a man cold when he's only sad" -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
ZOE WAS SURE SHE HAD MADE THE WRONG DECISION. She had been too overwhelmed by ecstasy to realize she was returning home this late at night, even though her roommate had tried to talk her out of it.
She found herself glancing over her shoulder, through the transparent lenses of her medicated glasses.
There was silence, and she was all alone.
Beneath her dress, she felt her skin shivering in fear. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a movement. There was a shadow amid the seats in the bus stop. For a second, she froze and held on to her handbag like her life depended on it. Panic sizzled through her, heightening her adrenaline and messing with her head at the same time.
She blinked, wondering if the poor light was playing tricks on her. However, this didn't seem like a trick that the poor light was playing. This was real! Like what happens in movies.
There was no time to think anything. ' RUN' her mind screamed. It was just all she needed to do. To run....
She ran, but then she heard footsteps behind her. Her heart raced in her chest as she ran for her life. By the next second, she stumbled upon a stone and fell chest flat against the ground. She gasped, pulling herself to her feet. As she did, she winced as pain jabbed at her right knee.
Slowly, she straightened her knee as the pain intensified, dragging her damaged leg, she limped along as she gritted her teeth against the pain she was feeling in her knee.It was sore but she could try, she could manage...
She tried to speed but it was quite difficult due to the pain she was feeling. The poor light from the street was just enough to reveal that she was bleeding.
Her heart suddenly sank. She wasn't going to make it...
She felt her balance going and she began to slide to the ground. Suddenly, strong hands caught hold of her shoulders.
" It's alright, beauty. I got you"
She shrieked at the suddenness of his grip.
A moment later, she felt his hand move ferociously down her neck. Every muscles in her body tensed.
" No" Her voice came out as a whisper.
As silently as she could, she gathered a handful of sand. She didn't wait, then she threw it so hard at him. Although she couldn't see his face let alone his eyes but she was pretty sure his eyes were open when the sand hit him. He roared in pain and cursed so hard. Zoe seized this moment to free herself from his hold. Now she had to run, she didn't look back, she ran for all her life worth.
She heaved a sigh of relief but it wasn't for long. Soon enough, she realized that there was a fence before her. A fence!
" No...shit" She shrieked. " Somebody help me! Somebody save me!" She cried.
She heard his footsteps, he was coming closer, closer and closer and without warning he pounced on her. She felt a slap on her right cheek. Another second, his fingers were stroking her hair, her neck and then her forehead.
