The Tomb

The weather was freezing cold and dark clouds were forming in the sky. She couldn't tell if it was because it was nearly dark outside or because there was a storm coming, but either way it wasn't pleasant. The November weather really wasn't pleasant, especially in the evenings. All she wanted to do was sit at home, but she wasn't quite sure what home was anymore since her father threw her out of the house and left her homeless.

This was night 6 on the streets for Harley. She had tried to lay down or at least sit down on the floor and lean on a wall during the nights, but the frigid cold was too much for her to sleep in. She even tried to rest a few times already tonight, but gave up quickly and decided to walk along and down the centre of some empty roads that lead out of town.

Harley only had £20 in her jeans pocket and her mobile phone that was on less than 10% battery life. She wanted to call her dad and ask for forgiveness, but knew he'd ignore her cry for help. She decided to just push her father to the back of her thoughts and keep going, she wanted to be more of a runaway teen rather than a homeless teen.

By the time the sun rose up (7:56am) Harley had walked an unknown amount of miles to the very next town that neighboured her hometown. The streets were empty and she noticed that a few of the red and grey terraced houses had lights on inside which probably meant adults and children were getting ready for work and school now. She kept walking though the slightly unfamiliar town until she found a bench to sit on.

Harley had been to this town quite a few times before, but she never spent more than a few hours here at a time. She used to be driven through the town on the way to school and she even would visit her mother (when she was alive) here at the local hospital, but all of those visits were very minimal. Harley just wanted to be safe and warm for the first time in a whole week.

The bench she found was old and made of wood. The cold weather had affected the wood on the bench and made it appear and feel soggy. The back of the bench had an engraved tag on it that wrote. 'In loving memory of Tom Riddle Sr.' 'Tom Riddle Senior? I won't who he is?' Harley supposed that he was maybe an old mayor of the town, and he was clearly very respected in the area despite never hearing his name before.

She looked around at where she was now the sun had poked itself out more so the sky was clearer than had been for many hours. There were many other benches with engraving on them. 'In loving memory of Aberforth Dumbledore', 'In memorial - Albus Dumbledore', In memory of Ariana Dumbledore'. Harley read. 'Siblings?' She thought. She went on, 'In memory of Percival Graves - One of the lost boys'. 'What the heck does a lost boy mean?' She thought. She perched her bum on the Percival Graves bench and watched as parents escorted their young children to school. A few of the children played and ran up to the benches and asked their parents about them. The parents looked different to Harley and so did the children. Harley couldn't quite put it into words, but there was something different about them. Was it a different sort of gleam in their eyes? Was it Harley just losing her mind after being cold and hungry for a week? Perhaps.

Like before, Harley pushed her weird ideas into the back of her mind, and she tried to ignore her rumbling belly. Well, she tried to, but it was hard to when she was surrounded by screaming children that said silly words like Galleon, Poltergeist, Quidditch, and of course, Hogwarts. 'Why does everyone here basically speak a whole new language?' She thought to herself. Some of the parents (mainly the mothers) seemed to be able to tell that Harley was confused and gave her sympathetic smiles as they walked past her. 'What the heck?' She thought again.

About half an hour passed, and the children and the parents were long gone now. Harley got up and walked across the road and went to the closest place that looked like a shop. This was when things became fishy. There were two sorts of... areas of the new town. One was the regular bog-standard type of town with cute little terraced houses and a little park with a couple swing sets in it, but behind that, there was an odd version of the town. The town wasn't picture perfect like you'd see in a cute Hollywood movie. It was dark... like a massive cloud had covered the whole area with a shadowy darkness that was filled with evil. Harley wanted to turn away and run, but she felt compelled to pay the area a visit.

She walked to the end of the regular town road where both sides met. Above the area, there was an arch that gave this area a name. It said, 'Godric's Hollow.' Harley couldn't believe she'd never seen this place before while driving through or visiting the hospital. Maybe there was a reason for her not hearing about it. Maybe it was haunted- but Harley knew better than to believe in silly things like ghosts, right? Maybe it was fully of Vampires and Werewolf's or even Werepires (cross breed of Vampires and Werewolf). Maybe there is a whole family of unicorns living there, but Harley knew that would be absurd. She ignored her silly imagination once more and walked ahead.

There was a type of cold chill that came over her as she walked through the arch, but Harley knew she probably was just imagining it. The sky was dark yet sunny at the exact same time. It was as if it was a sunny day with a black and white filter over the top of it. This Godric's Hollow place seemed alright; pretty quiet, but alright. Since it was school time now, Harley thought that most of the people that lived here were either in school or at work by now. She kept walking further and further into Godric's Hollow till she reached a odd shaped gravestone while walking past a little graveyard.

The graveyard wasn't too big but was full to the brim with headstones. She opened the rusty old gate and walked inside, making sure to not step on any of the graves and disrespect any of the people laying here under the ground. She noticed that a few of the names mirrored the ones she saw engraved onto the benches in the other part of town earlier. One, she definitely didn't recognise was a man named Gellert Grindelwald's grave. This grave was much grand and distinguishing compared to the other.

The grave was more of a tomb rather than just a grave.

It had a set of stairs leading up to it, which none of the other graves had. It then had a little platform and a very large box shaped building on top. The dark sky did this building no favours as it made the tomb look like something out of a horror movie. Harley stood at the very bottom of the stairs and looked up. Above the doorway was a last name. Grindelwald.

'Who is this guy then?' She thought. Was this a goodie or a baddie? He seemed clearly very rich by the grand and lavish grave he had, but why waste so much money on a big stone box to hide your head body in?

Harley looked around, but nobody was around. She took her first step with her right foot onto the bottom them and followed with her left. She then began climbing up the stairs. Harley felt intimidated by the grave the closer she got to it. When she reached the top platform she stopped and stared at it for a while. She wanted to try to enter it, but knew that would be wrong, but what did she really have to lose? She was already in trouble with her father so why shouldn't she break in? At least in jail, she'd have a bed and warm food, right?

She walked forward and put her full palm onto the door. Once she did, she knocked to see if anyone was in. Instead of the door opening, there was a rumbling sound coming from the inside. Harley stepped back and stood back onto the top step. She watched silently as the door slid to the left of her and revealed a tall gentleman who had a large grin plastered across his face.

"I-I'm sorry. I wasn't aware someone was visiting -"

"No bother, young lady. I don't often get visitors, and boy, am I glad to get one finally after all these years!" He grinned more and looked like the Joker.

Harley was scared and confused. "You?"

"I never died, my darling. I was forced to die in here as punishment, but little did they know..." The man pulled an odd looking necklace out of the inside of his jacket. It was a long silver chain with a diamond shaped amulet on it with a transparent ball in the centre that had red stuff in it. "As long as I carry this with me, I can not die!"

"Good. I must be leaving now." Harley turned and began making her way down the stairs.

"Wait!"

She turned back around. The man met her at the bottom of the steps. "Don't go. Stay a while, and I'll show you things -"

"I need to be getting to school. I-" Her tummy rumbled.

"Dressed like that with a hungry belly? I think not." He grabbed her hand and held it at her shoulder height. "Come with me, and I'll take you somewhere nicer than here." And just like that, they disappeared from Godric's Hollow into mid-air.
