My name is Seol, and I've come from a different family. A crazy one, or maybe even manic.

Let's say a little complex. I don't have a mother anymore.

I've lived with my dad my entire life and he's always telling me how much of a nuisance I am to the family, wishing I wasn't born and that he would dumb me onto the streets, but he never has the balls to do so.

Every day, his girlfriend comes over. She's horrible, but dad is crazy over her. He'll do anything she says, even if that's being her slave for eternity. Sometimes I just feel like I should move myself out, but where do I go?

I'm only eighteen, still in high school. I couldn't afford to move out.

As well, I'm insecure with myself. I can't bare the thought being in public by myself. Unless I'm walking to school or catching public transport. I'm not an extrovert, and I have many reasons why.

Yesterday, I was in the cafeteria at school. I tripped over someone's leg and spilled water all over myself, soaking myself along with my books.

No one had the decency to help me, and I had to buy new books after school.

They are just laughed.

Even my good friends...

The thought of betrayal pierced my heart. I wasn't mad, but more upset with myself that I had befriend people like them.

Each day before school, I dread waking up. I dread seeing my dad's girlfriend. I dread being here.

*6am*

Awakening from my sleep, I pushed my covers away and headed towards the bathroom. I soaked my face in cold water in helps of waking me up, but it just made my face burn from the unusual temperature.

I pulled the curtains, allowing light to emit into my room. The sky was clear with a bright, yellow sun like an egg yolk being cooked. The brightness adjusting to my eyes. It was still so cold.

Quickly, I got changed. I decided to wear something comfortable and cute: Light blue shorts, white t-shirt, pink cardigan, a little hat, and white trainers. I put on only a little bit of makeup as always, even though there was no point. I wasn't going anywhere special, or I'm not pleasing someone.

The moment I finished getting ready, I walked downstairs. There was no sign of my dad or his girlfriend. It was an empty house. I guess he went out drinking last night.

Fortunately, I liked the silence. It gives me a sense of comfort and confidence, which I didn't have much of.

I made my way to the kitchen, making a simple fruit salad consisting of apples and bananas since my dad always forgets to buy groceries. He relies on takeaway food to please himself. I glanced at my watch.

"Seven fifty already?!" I said to myself. My eyes widened and quickly grabbed my school bag ready to head to school. I quickly locked the door and made my way to school. I didn't mind walking, the fresh air surpasses my lungs and makes me feel ready to start my day, but it means I have to wake up extremely early for no reason.

*8:15am*

I entered my form room and loud voices were heard everywhere, the pretty girls in the corner gossiping about boys, and then the 'cool boys' talking about the 'hot girls'.

However, this person caught my attention. I assumed he was a male, with rings hugging his fingers and a silver chain loosely hanging around his neck. I couldn't see him well, because his hood was covering his face, but he sat by himself in the centre of the classroom where no civilisation existed.

I approached him and said calmly, "Hello, I haven't seen you before. I'm Seol."

He didn't reply, but lifted his head to look at me. His eyes were so pretty. They were a dull brown, but shined like diamonds.  He was dressed in all black baggy clothes.

"Are you expecting anyone? If not, do you mind if I sit here?" I exclaimed while indicating the seat next to him.

"I'm not. Feel free to sit there." he said in a cold tone. Honestly, I'm glad he let me sit there. I wouldn't know where else to sit otherwise. So, i sat down on the chair and sumped my bag next to me, tired from all the walking.

The maths teacher came in exclaiming, "Hello class, so I have decided we should have a test today... on algebra." The look on everyone's face says it all. They all started to whine. "But sir none of us has revised".

Luckily for me, I always revise the content we are given, even is we don't have a test coming I will always make sure I know how to do it.

"This test is just for my knowledge of where you guys are at." The teacher says. We all knew it wasn't. It was predictable. She doesn't like teaching big classes, so always comes up with excuses to move students down a class.

I smirked while everyone else was panicking.

"Hey, sorry I didn't quite catch your name?" I said to the new boy next to me.

"You can call my Jay." he said in a blunt voice.

I smiled and nodded my head, I'm not too sure why but I didn't know what to do.

"That's nice. I hope we get on together this year."

"Yeah, same here." He looked looked into my eyes and we stared at each other for seconds, which felt like minutes.

"Meet me on the rooftop after school at four." He then grabbed a pen and rolled his neck from side to side cracking his bones. Preparing for the test I guess.
