The ER Visit

Boss Baby and Kevin walk into the ER together, squinting to adjust their eyes to the bright lights in the building contrasted to the darkness outside. Kevin hesitantly walks up the front desk and finds the triage nurse.

"Hello, I'm Nurse Abigail. What is your name and current condition?"

Kevin responds, "Hello I am Kevin Banana, 27 years old. I fell and hit my head on the ground... although I'm not sure how long ago, my brain still feels fuzzy. I was unconscious until he found me." He looks to his side and Boss Baby nods.

Nurse Abigail looks at Boss Baby and inquires, "Were you with him at the time of the accident? What condition was he in the when you found him?"

"I was walking down the sidewalk, and came across Kevin on the ground unconscious. I woke him up, and he was able to get up after a couple minutes. We came here in a taxi."

"So you two have not met before this incident?"

"Correct", Boss Baby responds.

"Would you like to be checked in as a visitor?"

Boss Baby looks at Kevin, who shakes his head.

"Baby, you should go home and get some rest. You've already done a lot for me, I'll be alright now."

Nurse Abigail asks, "Oh, are you two together?"

Kevin and Boss Baby look at each other and awkwardly laugh.

"No," Boss Baby quickly adds, "Baby is just my nickname, short for Boss Baby. Also yes, I'd like to be checked in as a visitor please!"

"Alright," Nurse Abigail chuckles and says "I just need your full legal name for the forms."

"Theodore Lindsay Templeton, 25 years old. Ted for short."

"Thank you, you're good to go." Nurse Abigail hands Ted his visitor name tag. "You two can go sit in the waiting room until we call you up."

Kevin and Ted walk into the waiting room and sit down together. A minute of silence passes as they collect their scrambled thoughts.

"So," Kevin breaks the silence, "Your name's actually Ted?"

"Yes, though I am more well known as Boss Baby. That's the name I give new acquaintances, because I would prefer to keep more personal details private for business purposes."

"I understand. What do you do for work, if you don't mind me asking?"

Boss Baby, or Ted as Kevin just found out, replied "Not at all. I'm the Mega Fat CEO Boss Baby at Babycorp."

"Whoa!", Kevin exclaimed, "So do you own the company?"

"Not exactly. That's the Super Colossal Mega Boss Baby. I just oversee the operations in my division."

"Neat! So you work around here in town?"

"Yes, I do. Do you?",Ted inquired.

"Yeah, I work around here as an aerospace engineer. I was just walking home from work when you found me."

"Impressive."

"Hey, I really appreciate you helping me." , said Kevin. "Why did you stay with me though? Don't you have a lot of work to do?"

"Oh, don't worry about me. I just wanted to make sure you're ok."

"Thank you again, Ted."

A receptionist shouts, "Kevin Banana! You can go in now."
